I've stayed at the Navy Yard Courtyard multiple times including the first month they were open.

I'm surprised another reviewer called it ok for a moderate hotel. I think it ticks all the right boxes: location, price (though the price varie from $85 to $249). The check-in staff is great every time. The rooms are more than adequate. (even got upgraded to a 2-room suite on one occasion)

As in other reviews, very good location for the Metro, an easy-ish walk to Capitol Hill. And for those who drive, provided you can navigate DC streets, it couldn't be more convenient to main roads going into the city, into Northern Virginia, or off toward Annapolis or Baltimore.

I prefer rooms on the courtyard side as the lights from the office building across the street always seem to be set on bright.

Defintely recommend without reservation. But, and my final comment, I'm an independent traveler and don't like the pampering that supposedly comes with 4 and 5 star properties.. just so you can compare.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a festival that was held at RFK Stadium. I was very happy with this hotel's proximity to the train system that will take you any where you need to go in DC. The rooms were clean and new, just a little small. We had four in the room and it was tight, but the room would accomodate two fine. I didn't try the breakfast buffet but it looked nice and there is a small bar in the lobby for some pre/post-dinner drinks. Overall, a great stay for the money!

Within the mid-price range I stick to, this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in the Washington area. The bed was comfortable, the location quiet and convenient, and the room clean and attractive. I also appreciated that the drapes, when drawn, effectively block out the daylight, which enabled me to sleep in late. The dinner I had there was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. A small disappointment is that they appear to have room service only in the evening; for breakfast, you have to go downstairs.

I was directed to stay at this hotel for a meeting that I had in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the following:
- One block from the Metro
- CVS 1/2 a block away
- Super friendly and helpful staff everything from check-in to check-out
- Spanking newness
- Wonderful bar and hors d'oeuvres happy hour in the afternoon
- Bartender saw that I was sick and had a stuffy nose and made me a nice hot drink "to help me sleep" and then greeted me by name for the rest of my stay.

I will certainly stay at this hotel again the next chance I get!
