The Marriott is in a good location if you like to walk-it's not far to Georgetown and it's 5 Minutes to the subway and 15 Minutes to the Lincoln Memorial. The room had been recently renovated and was clean and nice, with a very comfortable bed. However I cannot understand why there isn't a safe in a guest room in a newly renovated Marriott hotel. The Gym is good.

Reception staff and concierge were friendly and competent; the restaurant staff friendly as well but with some problems taking a correct order and knowing what is really available.
Avoid the breakfast if it's not included in the price, it's not worth the money, even though it's quite cheap. No fresh bred, standard industrial food products, no choice in juices, nothing special at all. Only the freshly made egg dishes were ok.

I recently stayed at the Washington Marriott and had a wonderful experience. The hotel staff was incredibly responsive and friendly - more so than at many hotels I've stayed at recently. The rooms were lovely, and the exercise room was excellent (bring headphones to take advantage of the personal TVs). I was impressed with the buffet breakfast, which was relatively cheap ($15) as far as hotel breakfasts go. Hotel is located next to Starbucks, Walgreens and restaurants. Only complaint is that free internet is not available.

We stayed here for a week and I cannot fault it in any way. Even though the hotel was full and very busy, every member of staff was helpful and friendly and always had time for you. Lovely comfy beds. Ideally situated for the Metro at Foggy Bottom and within walking distance of all the attractions. Would definitely stay again.

I recently stayed at the Washington Marriott for a conference held at the same hotel. Upon arriving, I was told I had been moved to another hotel. I explained that I was attending a conference at that hotel and moving to another hotel would be very inconvenient. I was then told I had been moved to another hotel, they were expecting me, and I would have transportation back to the Washington Marriott in the morning for my conference. Upon my arrival at my new hotel - the Wardman Park Marriott - I was told they had no idea who I was, but would be able to accomodate me, thank goodness! I asked if they could contact the Washington Marriott to find out when I would be picked up to return there the next day, and I was told the Washington Marriott had no intention of arranging transportation for me. I was able to hitch a ride back to the Washington Marriott the next morning to make my conference in time and they were able to fit me in for the second night of my stay.

The moral of the story is - if you decide to stay at the Washington Marriott make sure you have transportation available, in case they ignore your confirmed reservation and move you to another hotel!
