“tasteful design, great value, v. clean, attentive staff, a relaxing haven in BKK”
I have only good things to say about this hotel. Being a very picky Westerner used to high standards of European and North American hospitality, I found everything in this hotel to meet or exceed my expectations, which is amazing considering the very low price (1,300 baht (net) per night for a superior room via the "hot deal" offer on the hotel's own website). I originally booked 4 nights, but as soon as I saw the impressive public areas and my room, I immediately decided to extend my stay for 1 month. After talking to the general manager, a young guy called Zaki, from Syria, who is a very friendly, helpful and easy-going guy, he asked me what price I'd like to pay for long term and we agreed on only 1,050 baht per night (US$ 32) including free continental breakfast, free use of pool and gym, free & reliable WiFi, 2 free bottles of water a day, and one free 1-hour massage each week. What a deal! I have never stayed in a better hotel at this price, and I've been in hotels costing 5 times more that weren't as satisfying overall. It's truly a unique boutique hotel, beautifully designed in Moroccan style, with a large and airy atrium where the open-air reception is located, with a second large, inner atrium containing the swimming pool (chlorine-free, clean enough to drink), gym and massage services. At night, the hotel has subdued lighting, and the elegant, magical design of the very high atrium with its columns, comfortable seating (dozens of cushions) and lovely design details give the inner atrium a magical, spiritual feeling almost like a church. The guest rooms are completely quiet, well-appointed with Mediterranean-style tiled floors, large firm bed with very clean, comfortable linens. My room had no refrigerator originally, but they provided me with one right away without my asking, as well as a DVD player, kettle, hairdryer, etc. Aircon is very quiet and efficient, TV is small but who comes to Bangkok to watch TV? The attitude of all the staff, from reception to maids, is very gracious and helpful, with strong English spoken all round, and always laughing and talking among themselves when not dealing efficiently with guests. They are, if anything, over-attentive to the point that may make you feel embarrassed, for example rushing to open the door for you, to press the button on the elevator, turn on a fan if you're sitting in the public areas, spray you with their free mosquito repellent, etc., etc. In fact, they're too nice and too polite. The whole hotel is brand-new and spotless and there are maids cleaning everywhere the whole day long. Location is really great, being a 1-minute walk from a huge Tesco Lotus superstore and about 4 minutes from a possibly even larger Carrefour superstore, both of which are also malls with restaurants, banks and other stores. A 7-11 is in fact 10 seconds away from the hotel's front door. The On Nut Skytrain station is 1 minute away, next to Tesco Lotus. This is a residential area, almost suburban, with no nightlife/bars/restaurants catering to tourists. However, the Skytrain (it's at the end of the line) will take you to the very heart of Bangkok cheaply in just 5-10 minutes. Overall, Imm Fusion is a wonderful hotel, incredible value for money especially if you negotiate a long-stay rate, and, in the quality of its design and relaxing atmosphere, probably unique in Bangkok. Very oriented towards guest satisfaction and constantly making improvements, for example they just bought safe boxes and gave me one for my room. The restaurant will become full-service shortly, but at present only serves the complimentary continental breakfast and very limited lunch. However, the hotel has only been open 4 months. Basically, anything you want, they'll try to help you as best they can. The manager and staff are doing their utmost to ensure you enjoy your stay, want to return and recommend this place to others. I think you will. Considering that Bangkok has many grotty and impersonal hotels in dodgy neighbourhoods at prices much higher than this, Imm Fusion is truly a gem of a find. Any time I return to Bangkok, I'll stay here again, because you really feel like this is your home away from home.
