The hotel is located pretty far from the skytrain station in sukhumvit road. You should walk 10-15 in a street with heavy traffic and no sidewalk and with vile smells.

The rooms are very noisy from outside traffic and there is no nice view from the window. I absolutely suggest skipping this hotel.

Most times we requested a problem to be rectified, we had to ask multiple times. The most significant problems for us were incorrect information regarding pick up times and very rude staff. They seemed unable to actually do anything to amend matters - with the exception of a couple of reception staff and the concierges. It's such a shame to see a 4 star hotel operate at 2 star service.

We overhead numerous complaints from guests about the standard of service.
Whilst the outside garden were very nice, the spa was quite expensive and the pool always closed.

Once again back to the Davis hotel this time I had my elderly parents with me. Once again such high standards of attention from the staff in the hotel. We both had rooms on the 9th floor and as always the there were well cleaned and superbly appointed.
The staff took a great deal of care of my parents always asking after them and if they needed any assistance to visit any places of interest.
The staff give 5 star treatment to customers.
I have stayed in the Davis about 20 times now since it opened and the place still looks as fresh as the first day.
Am still waiting for an upgrade for being such a loyal customer and maybe they could put out better breakfast cereals.
But no complaints and am booking my stay for Xmas time again.

Having stayed in a few of Bangkoks high end hotels, this is one of my favourites. Its a beautiful modern hotel with amazing rooms. We stayed in the Diplomat Suite with its own Jacuzzi, Sauna, Massage Table and two toilets. The hotel is a little way off the main road but if you go along Soi 22 (the road opposite the hotel) rather than Soi 24 (the road the hotel is on. It's always busy) there are numerous thai restaurants and you can be on the main road in less than 5 minutes by taxi or tuk tuk. Alos in the other direction you can be at Lumpini night market and the Silom area in 10 minutes.
The posh suite we stayed in was cheaper than any of the standard rooms that you get along the main Sukhumvit Rd and for a 35 baht (50p) taxi journey to Sukhumvit you can't complain.
Although the pool are looked small,for a city centre hotel, it was very quiet and relaxing and hey, you don't go to a city to sit by a pool all day.
Would highly recommend this place especially for couples.

Our stay the hotel was for three night in late May 2008, at the end of our honeymoon. Our first time to Bangkok as well

Our room was lovely, clean, nice sized with a great bathroom. Our room had a mini kitchen, including microwave. The room had everything we needed including scales which are so handy after doing alot of shopping and you are going to the airport.

Breakfast was nice and they had a good selection. But there are a couple of supermarkets across the street. A good selection of food

We walked to the skytrain and it is a about a 1 km, but an interesting walk. Sky train is airconditoned and you can get around for the day for 140baht.

Our only issue was with the bell boy, if you were not street smart, then you could get yourself on the trip around the jewellery and tailor shops. He wanted us to go with his friend (taxi on a meter, which is waiting down the street), which we did but only to MBK much to his disappointment of trying to get us to shop with him for a flat fee of 100 baht, where ever he wanted to take us!! am thinking they are all on kick backs but we were not sure. They were not pushy but we were quite firm as well. And made sure he had us on the meter to MBK

Make sure you always have the taxi use a meter, and dont believe anyone who comes up to you on the street. The palace supplies you with appropriate clothing if you need it, and they are open most days except certain holidays. Also the temples are open all day as well... we had people approach us alot but were quite firm and they seem to go away. Just becareful and trust your instincts.

And finally we loved the night bazaar, all the stalls had different stuff and we went back most nights after going to other markets. Didn't mind MBK but all the shops seemed a bit too similar. The Emporium down the street seemed OK.
