Comparison: Besides the MO Landmark, I also stayed at the Four Seasons and the Island Shangri-La in the past. Rooms at MO Landmark are the most spacious and the services are the most personable. Four Seasons, situated at the waterfront, has the best harbor view and located next to the expensive IFC shopping mall and is above the airport express train. IFC mall is great for window shopping but is so overpriced; for example, clothes in the Brooks Brothers cost three times more than the US’s. The most impressive about the Island Shangri-La is the 17-story atrium featuring the world’s largest 16-story high Chinese silk painting. Although the MO Landmark and FS are both top-notched hotels and MO’s rooms and services are slightly better, I prefer the FS purely for its harbor view.
Room: We stayed at the signature L600 Deluxe Room. The bathroom is spacious with a uniquely designed round tub, two sinks, and generous counter space. The room has three TVs, two 42” flat panel TVs in the living room and the bedroom and a small one in the bathroom. The only downside is that the room looked out to other office buildings across the street. The entire hotel has no rooms with a decent view.
Location: The hotel is located in the business district with some shopping nearby. Lan Kwai Fong (clubs/bars area) is 5 minute away. Next to a MTR (subway) station and 5 minutes walk to the Airport Express train station.
Misc: The breakfast at the MO bar is very good. The spa’s facility is amazing with various cool shower/steam rooms and pools. You don’t have to get a treatment to enjoy the facility; it’s open to all hotel guests. The gym is nicely equipped so I recommend go to the spa for a shower after a morning work-out. Hotel also provides free internet at the library and the front desk provided laptop for in-room use.
Conclusion: We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. But view is important to me. The other MO that has the harbor view is <10 minutes away and I’ll try it in my next trip.
