“Good hotel and location”

Novotel Cusco

May 2, 2008

Stayed in August 07 with the family ( kids 7 and 11) on 2 seperate occasions. Location is good and easy 5-10 minute walk from the centre. As there is no parking in the hotel you have to get into and out of our car/taxi quickly at the front of the hotel to stop blocking the traffic. The entrance lobby is large and impressive part of an old converted courtyard. We stayed in the new section and had inter connecting rooms. The rooms in the modern section are as you would expect comfortable and nothing out of the ordinary but OK. Breakfast was good if a little frantic if a tour group where there. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment. All in all a good hotel and we would return. Cusco is a fantastic city to be recommended.

“Comfortable and Clean”

Novotel Cusco

Apr 20, 2008

We stayed here 3 nights as part of a tour group. The hotel is very busy and we were in a standard room in the new wing. It was typical Novotel but everything was clean and worked properly and the room was comfortable, serviced quickly and well.

The public atrium is beautiful and a lovely spot to sit with a book and a coca tea.

The staff were unfailingly helpful, efficient and polite. Only too happy to bring oxygen to your room if you need it to combat the effects of high altitude.

The breakfast buffer was adequate and kitchen staff were reassuringly aware of hygiene issues and dressed appropriately with hair nets and gloves. We ate once there in the evening and the food was well cooked and well presented.

All in all we had a very pleasant stay.

“Book a Colonial Room!”

Novotel Cusco

Apr 14, 2008

Really loved this hotel, stayed four nights here in March - 2 nights on way to Macchu Picchu and 2 on the way back. I fully agree with other comments on the site, you must book a "Colonial" room - there are only 16 of these rooms built around the old courtyard, the other 80 rooms are in a new block. The first 2 nights were in a 2 tier room which could slept four, the second stay was a slightly smaller room but still great.

I must admit to being a bit wary having stayed in many Novotels over the years in UK, but the travel agent's recommendation was spot on. Rooms were excellent, service was excellent, and only a short walk to the main square, attractions, restaurants etc. Short walking distances are important when you are adjusting to the altitude....

We only ate breakfast here (which was OK, not special but OK) so can't comment on the restaurant, but as other reviewers have said, there are so many options out of the hotel to try.

We left luggage here between visits, and all the staff were very helpful. There's loads to see and do in Cusco, and this is a great place to base yourself.

“we had a great room and a very good 3 night stay”

Novotel Cusco

My husband, myself and our 2 boys (ages 7 and 9) had a wonderful room in the colonial section of this hotel. We had a large room which included a loft with 2 twin beds for the kids. The room was clean, quiet and charming. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. My mother also had a room in the colonial section which was smaller but also lovely and very comfortable. Staff was nice, friendly and mostly helpful. They were happy to store our excess luggage while we toured Machu Picchu for 2 nights, coca mate tea was always available, umbrellas were large and available. A couple of my questions about shops and restaurants were not understood or completely answered. Breakfast was average but adequate.
