The attention provided by the staff at this hotel is unmatched. They provided great advice on excursions and put us in contact with great local guides. They wonderfully took care of talking to our airline to reclaim our delayed luggage, they provided us with homemade chica morado and made reservations anywhere we wanted to go.

Though the hotel is not in the city center, the hotel’s free transportation from and to the airport and, from and to the city center makes this a non-issue. Being away from the center you’ll also enjoy some peace and quite in this small hotel.

This place is great.

My teenaged daughter and myself booked Torre Dorada based on your reviews. They were right! The hotel is not in a very exciting part of town but seemed entirely safe. The location truly did not matter as the staff will take you in to town at a moment's notice (no charge) and will pick you up within 10 minutes after calling them (easily done). On arrival Raphael gave us a card with phone number highlighted and instructions on where to call from.
Peggy and her staff have an ethos which we rarely see in hotels/guesthouses anywhere. Nothing is too much trouble. They anticipate every need, help you plan your day, arrange for English speaking guide to the ruins, recommend restaurants (excellent advice, by the way), generally "round you up" if you need it. Also help with flight information if needed.
The hotel is very clean, has internet access, nice warm showers, varied breakfast foods, including fruit, yoghurt, breads/ coffee cake etc. Even got us breakfast at 5am before we left for a flight. Everyone speaks English (if needed).
We both absolutely loved Peru, especially Cusco and when we return, will book Torre Dorada again without hesitation.

Just got back from Cusco, Peru where we stayed nine days at the Torre Dorada. Read the reviews in Trip Advisor, but when going through a travel service to schedule our time there, they said that there was nothing available, so we scheduled our stay at another place in town. I then went directly to Torre Dorada by email and they informed me that they had all nine days available. It was easy to arrange our stay there, paying for one day using Paypal, and paying the remainder when we departed. You couldn't find a better collection of people running an establishment. Peggy, Rafael, Danny, Norma, Karina and all the drivers who are ready to take you to town on a moments notice. This is what service is all about. Spending two weeks in Cusco leaves you with lots of memories, but some of the best ones are of the time spent at the Torre Dorada with the fine people that work there.

You have read the other reviews. Roughly 95% give an excellent rating. This is over 140 reviews, so there is a solid history here.

And with good reason. When one considers price ($75 - 80 US year round), service and amenities, there is really no other choice in Cusco that compares.

We stayed 4 nights in July 2008, just got back. $350 +/- US for 4 nights in a very comfortable, cozy room, 4 excellent breakfasts. pick-up and drop off at the airport, daily drop offs and pick-ups in downtown Cusco, incouding at 5:30 AM to meet our Toru Group trekking to Machu Picchu, several loads of gnarly laundry after the Machu Piccu trek, free internet access including WiFi, currency exchange service delivered to the hotel, excellent concierge service.

In short, Peggy (the owner), Rafael, and the whole team will do anything and everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

If you are looking for the Sheraton or Westin, keep searching. Otherwise, your search is over. Google Torre Dorada and book your room today. They are not that big, with less than 20 rooms, and the word is getting out....
