“My four year old loved the place”

We went with our four year old daughter on Tuesday. She absolutely loved it even though being under 1100mm she could only go on about four of the attractions. One of these, Juha's Dhow actually has five slides, water guns and a deluge bucket. There was no queing for any of these slides. The other ride she enjoyed was the family raft ride called Summit Surge and Rushdown Ravine and we did sometimes have to queue for about ten minutes for this. The first part blasts your raft up a slide and the second part slides you back down a chute. The first part's a bit hard on the bum when you go over the water cannon and the second part is quite boring as I didn't find it extreme enough (plus the raft keeps nipping your skin as it goes up and down the sides of the chute).

Most of the sunbed areas were busy and the sunbeds are really shoehorned in. We found the best spot for us was a decking area on the roof of Sinbad's Galley snack bar which wasn't packed with sunbeds and was really quiet. It has the advantage of being close to the toilets and snack bar and connects directly to the family raft ride and the Juha's Dhow attraction. It's also a good photo spot with the Burj al Arab in the background.

I didn't find the cost of food to be too bad and it was of reasonable quality.

I didn't like the lazy river "Juha's Journey". Instead of taking out rings that people had abandoned they were left to float around so there were log jams all over the place where you had to push them aside. There were also a few groups of twenty something local lads mucking about flipping the rings in the air and behaving like ten year olds. I had to grab one of the rings to stop it from clobbering my daughter. Not a relaxing lazy river at all then.

It wouldn't be top of my list of places to go but it was my daughters favourite part of our week in Dubai.

“Ok place to cool down...”

Wild Wadi Water Park is an ok place to go to if you need to cool down. The entrance fee is quite high compared to what's on offer and after a couple of hours you are likely to get bored of the water slides. You have to pay for the lockers and the food is overpriced as well. It's better to go to the beach as it doesn't get that crowded or have the security guards that will confiscate any food or drinks...

“Crowded and overated”

I can't really understand why Wild Wadi is so popular tourist trap. Or can, 'cause it's so good advertised. But I don't think that very many people who come here first time want go back. The hole place was so crowded, we been here on thursday afternoon which is popular time, but still! We must stay in line about one hour to get any slides. Restaurants was so full of people and around the pools there wasn't enough deckchairs.
Yeah, I admit that the waterpark located in spectacular place: Burj al Arab and Jumeirah beach-hotel on the background were unforgettable. The ride called Masterblaster was very nice too, but it was just like the Family ride, I couldn't notice any difference. Jumeirah Sceirah was too scary so we didn't even try it. Flowriders should have been fun - but it's not if you can't surf. Breakers bay was so crowded that we couldn't enjoy about the waves at all. Flood river was ridiculous: the "creating waves" were so slow that we almost fall asleep. And Juha's Journey: the hell of the waterpark! Every slides end up with those terrible lazy river! When you have sailed it throught once, you don't want do it again - but you should. So that's why the most of people just climbed up the walls and tried to get away from here as soon as they can.
So that's the other problem besides the crowded: every slides are either too easy or too scary. That's why I won't go to the Wild Wadi if I come back to Dubai someday.

This water park is nothing special as the water parks you would find in US. Its like if you dont have anything better to do and want to go for abit of fun then yes you can go have a good time. For kids they would love it. Its entrance is expensive but service inside is great and staff very helpful. I have been once to experience it but would not go again.

“Be warned!”

Beware the gate security! We've visited water parks around the world and never encountered this before!

The security 'guards' made absolutely no attempt to check through belongings for anything threatening as far as we could see, the only aim appeared to be to take all items of food and drink away from visitors. These were then confiscated until departure time: a whole room inc fridges were devoted to this 'contraband'!

I objected to this and was told they are a profit making organisation!! As I said that my children had allergies, I was allowed to keep our sandwiches - I also hid a litre of water and as they weren't doing proper security checks, got away with it! At 36degrees, expensive to buy drinks and food on top of their hefty entrance fees.

The park itself was ok but unremarkable and apart from one ride, mild, but staff inside park helpful and friendly.

Desert safari definitely worth a go, though touristy as you would expect, we found Funtours way cheaper than Arabian Adventures for what appeared to be same trip and was fun for all the family.

Big Bus Tour very good value and a good start to holiday.

Beware of the Dubai traffic - a nighmare and don't let a Dubai taxi driver take you to other than a major hotel in Sharjah- they are prone to get lost and charge you for it!!
