We went with our four year old daughter on Tuesday. She absolutely loved it even though being under 1100mm she could only go on about four of the attractions. One of these, Juha's Dhow actually has five slides, water guns and a deluge bucket. There was no queing for any of these slides. The other ride she enjoyed was the family raft ride called Summit Surge and Rushdown Ravine and we did sometimes have to queue for about ten minutes for this. The first part blasts your raft up a slide and the second part slides you back down a chute. The first part's a bit hard on the bum when you go over the water cannon and the second part is quite boring as I didn't find it extreme enough (plus the raft keeps nipping your skin as it goes up and down the sides of the chute).
Most of the sunbed areas were busy and the sunbeds are really shoehorned in. We found the best spot for us was a decking area on the roof of Sinbad's Galley snack bar which wasn't packed with sunbeds and was really quiet. It has the advantage of being close to the toilets and snack bar and connects directly to the family raft ride and the Juha's Dhow attraction. It's also a good photo spot with the Burj al Arab in the background.
I didn't find the cost of food to be too bad and it was of reasonable quality.
I didn't like the lazy river "Juha's Journey". Instead of taking out rings that people had abandoned they were left to float around so there were log jams all over the place where you had to push them aside. There were also a few groups of twenty something local lads mucking about flipping the rings in the air and behaving like ten year olds. I had to grab one of the rings to stop it from clobbering my daughter. Not a relaxing lazy river at all then.
It wouldn't be top of my list of places to go but it was my daughters favourite part of our week in Dubai.
