I had a comped room for two nights. The room was decent (838 in Orleans Tower) but housekeeping forgot to take out trash after making up room. The TV was old with shadows. The bathroom was marble and pretty large .I had a view of ocean and construction site, no hotels fault. The room was at end of along hall but quiet. The casino is large and the poker room was moved to first floor next to Boardwalk. The buffet was extremely lacking with mediocre food and a unappealing price of $22.00. There was tax on room but for comped room I would return in a heart beat.

“Comped Class A Room”

Had a Free Room Offer from a previous stay (was ok). We stayed in the Newly refurbished tower and were impressed. Flat screen Tv , Modern tranquil bedding and draperies. AWESOME new beds !
Room was clean and located in great part of casino. As Compared to past stays, room went from 3 to a 5. Service and Staff was friendly as always. Pool is a major disappointment however, as it is small and outdoors.
Just a note- this trip we went without children but have brought them many times and always were very welcomed. The kids (5 & 8) were thrilled with experience. I had read other reviews stating otherwise and that was not our case EVER, The beach is just outside door and very nice. The steel pier is filled with rides and games, and is placed just outside doors to right. We have made many a family trip and have always had a wonderful time. We will keep on returning- especially when the room is comped !!

“not for blackjack players”

Showboat Casino Hotel

My wife is an avid slot player while I play blackjack with some roulette for a break. We were offered and accepted a comped night at the Showboat on the Thursday before the Memorial day weekend which we were spending at Tropicana. We arrived on Thursday about 4pm. There was no waiting. A very personable reservation clerk advised us that our reservations had been made for the night before but when I protested that there was no way that I had done this she quickly resolved the matter and got us a room in the Orleans Tower. The room was spacious and well appointed . (Harrah's seems to have the right touch in designing and outfitting their rooms at all their properties). My wife and I quickly went to the casino. I've been to Showboat Casino before but since I was there last they appear to have reduced the number of blackjack tables( this may be erroneous as i made no count then or now). I am absolutely certain that they have introduced one feature bad for the player - dealer hits on sft 17.. I haven't played at every casino in Atlantic City but thats not what they do at Hilton, Borgata or Tropicana where I regularly play. Combined with automatic shuffling machines whih I hate, this further casino advantage was a turn off for me and I doubt if I will return there. My wifes comments on the slots were that the machines don't play back with you. Her comments are borne out by the monthly N J gaming commision reports which always show Showboat at or near the bottom in return. We ate our dinner and breakfast at the Mansion cafe. Neither of us cared for our dinner choices- mine a reuben sandwich which really wasn't a sandwich.,my wife's fried chicken which was dried up and tasteless. In addition when I requested a second Coor's light I was brought a Coronna by the server who sped off and disappeared for the duration of our meal. In sort the Showboat is probably ideal if you are a day tripper or on an occasional overnight stay as they have more special offers than any other casino I know . However if you are a serios blackjack player or slot player you'll do better elsewher like Tropicana(my favorite), Hilton or Borgata.

Showboat is a wonderful casino. the rooms are terrific, as well as the staff. We enjoy it everytime we go.the food is great too. the only thing that we really dont like is thaat the pool area is outdoors and not as big (olympic size) likeTaj Mahal is HUGE an indoors and warm an cozy thats the only thing, oh and the entrance thru the boardwalk is so dark extremely dark, there should be more lights at the entrance area it looks as if youre walking into a movie theater.instead of the Showboat Casino.but all in all we love it, and when I cant book in Taj I book for the showboat. my two favorites.Enjoy it.

“Ok for a shrt stay”

We have just returned from three days at the Showboat Hotel. The hotel is economic and perferct for a short period. It's positionated in a best position on the boardwalks in front of the sea.
The breakfast is ok in the restaurant and shop of the hotel, and I ate at the Casa Napoli with a lovely dinner.
We paid $90 per night for a deluxe room. Rooms are cleaned but the accessories are poor. Check-in and check out very fast there is also a checkout point where you can collect byself.
OverallI think the Showboat is a perfect hotel if you didn't want to spent a lot of money. Casino is very funny!!
