“Where was the Trump experience?!!!”

We stayed here from the 17-19 of july

We booked the reservation through reservations of the trump itsself. It was my father, my handicapped mother (stroke survivor),and myself. We booked two rooms. We explained to the lady who booked our rooms, we needed one handicapped with two double beds smoke free adjoining to a king bed smoke free room because we were traveling together but needed different rooms. We clearly made ourselves clear and we made sure she faxed us the intinerary. Upon arrival, check in was fine not great just fine, the somewhat in a bad mood but tried to be professional lady that checked us in said they had us down with two rooms with double beds in each (i could live with that), adjoining smoke free. We went up to our rooms and they were NOT adjoining. We lived with that. Since my mom is a stroke survivor she gets tired very easily so it was around 8 o clock and she wanted to eat and go to bed. My mom ordered room service which was a grilled cheese with ginger ale, they said it would take 40 minutes, FINE. but it took an hour and a half!!!!!!!! they didn't even call us to warn us about the set back. My dad called to see what was the hold up and they said that the second kitchen is down due to renovation, (like i stated before we werent aware of this when booking, and if we were we would of went somewhere else because we rely on room service with my mom)needless to say my dad made sure they charged him nothing. Since the rennovation was going on, you could not order pancakes and such and I always order room service for breakfast in bed something i always look forward too! Even though it was a smoke free floor people still smoked. Our rooms were clean but they were no better then a holiday inn or comfort in, actually there are holiday/comfort inn nicer then Taj Mahal. Yea, I hope a manager reads this! The traveler photos looked nicer then what the rooms actually look like and that is sad if a person's own photos look better then in person. Since this is a 2 star i mean 4 star hotel you expect some type of DOWN, down pillows, down comforters. Nope. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean, felt like 100 thread sheets though. The bathroom was roomy and clean but not SPOTLESS. The room and bathroom looked run down or trying to be nice but trying too hard and was a real miss with me. By the way, the hall itself is cold. The whole hotel is cold so bring a jacket. The walls are very thin (could here my parents phone ringing loud and clear when I called them) and you can hear people out in the hallways if they are having a convo. Thank God no ruckus on our floor or I would had to show New Jersey how us Baltimorians handle things. By the way we were on the 29th floor if you must stay here stay higher because friday and saturday night the nightclub is open and you can hear the bass til 4 am! Now onto the restaurants. Weird, none serves lunch except for plate. I enjoy my lunch just as much as my dinner. Plate is a blah restaurant, hit or miss. Service is slow and you will feel like you are in little havana how the staff rudely speaks spanish to one another in front of you! I happen to know spanish and they purposely do it because they expect the customers to not know it. The first time at plate i got a horrible greasy grilled cheese sandwich (room service one is better). My dad got a margerhita pizza and it was good. Our server took forever. We gambled the rest of the night, and boy oh boy night time is way wilder then the day. I don't think I ever seen so many prostitutes working the casino. The nightlife is fun though. The one bar has girl entertainment and they were good. You think the day is bad a lot more of interesting, weird, and creepy people out plus hookers. You get the whole atlantic city feel at night. We finished gambling at 1 and headed to our room. NO SECURITY AT NIGHT! security during the day but not at night. that was a big problem for us. anyone could creep up to your floor and I have proof of that with the next night. Next day we had lunch at plate again because it is the only place that does lunch or breakfast. I got two eggs over easy with ham bacon and sausage and home fries. Mediocre. Slow service again. We gambled a little bit and my mom wanted to go up to the room. Once we got my mom situated, my dad and i walked the boardwalk. We walked up to Ceasars. We did a little shopping. I got my Juicy Couture and Gucci fix. We ate the piazza and it was really nice. We sat and watched the ocean. We even went over to Ceasars casino and boy what a difference!! Casino way cleaner, the air was cleaner, everything was way cleaner then Taj no comparison. We decided to check out the hotel. We were very pleased. It really looked like a 4 star hotel. We wanted to see a room but they were booked. The staff was way more friendlier. The restaurants looked really nice and neat. It defiantely exuded our level our luxury. Plus, everything was right there perfect for my wheel chair bound mother. We took the carriage like taxi back for 20 bucks. My dad and I wanted to hit the pool up before we had dinner and gambled. When we got to the pool the staff told us it was closed because some kid threw up in the pool and it wouldnt be ready til 8 am next day. It was around like 4 when we arrived. It takes that long to clean a pool? My dad was really upset considering he was paying 349 a peice for two rooms. So he went to the manager downstairs and I went with him. The spa/salon is right below the steps to the pool and 4 star hotel salon/spa no no no no more like shopping mall salon/spa place. Did not look inviting at all. Plus the staff in their looked kinda mean. We went down to see the manager and it took her 10 minutes to come out and see us. She was nice but unprofessional. My dad started with the adjoining room issue and she told us that at their hotel adjoining means adjacement and HE WAS SUPPOSE TO TELL THE LADY CONNECTIVE, i know crazy huh. We told her about room service, security, room service, and the pool. Instead of saying "I understand sir, this is what i am going to do" She sat their and explained and tried to justify EVERYTHING. No wonder this hotel is horrible. Management is horrible. She did take 100 dollars off each room and my dad was fine with that. Plus we got a 2 pm check out due to my mom. We ate dinner at Mark Anthony and that is the only highlight of our trip. It was so good and the waitors were so funny authentic italian and friendly. I got the special of florida grouper and my dad got minestrone and i forgot what else he got. We had creme brulee for desert soooooooo good. Definately eat there!!!!!!!! Highly reccomend it even if you arent stayign at the hotel. We gambled afterwards til 2 and again as we went up to our room NO SECURITY BY ELEVATORS, we entered our floor and low and behold was a prostitute, with her breasts hanging out, derrierre out of her dress, high heels, bag, and what do you know shes smoking on the non smoking floor. She wasn't waiting for the elevator either. =) My dad and i minded our business and went to our room. I really felt like I was in an HBO documentary of AC HOOKERS with all the prostitutes I encountered but hey thats atlantic city for you! It sure did make things interesting. We woke up checked out at 2, had late lunch at plate , i had an ok hamburger, and we gambled some more and went home. Trying to get the car was horrible and our luggage. If you decide to gamble after check out you can have your luggaged locked up. We had our car valet. My dad getting the car valet (he isnt a trump one member) wasnt a problem but apparently to get your car to check out it is ! ???????????/ talk about confusion. they really make it hard! None of the staff was helpful so my dad had to get a manager yet again. It took them 15 minutes to get our car and once we did we were glad to get the hell out of there!!!!!! DO NOT STAY AT THE TAJ MAHAL! STAY ELSE WHERE! We will be at Ceasars next time where we would gladly pay 300 a night to stay there! Definately not the trump experience we were looking forward too!!!!!!!!!! DONALD TRUMP YOU ARE FIRED ON THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“someone took a dump in the pool”

Trump Taj Mahal

Our stay was ruined by someone that defecated in the pool..which was promptly closed after it was discovered, unfortunately for many of us it was too late as we got to experience swimming in a toilet. My daughter had to take 3 showers before feeeling "a little less grossed out". Hotel promised us refund but then reneged a week later stating first that we had to pursue refund through booking agent AC central, then that they would look into it at managers meeting, then that they never promised a refund... Shame on this management staff.

“terrible”

Trump Taj Mahal

First visit to Atlantic City, did not know what to expect. Went for the most excellent Rush concert at the casino...awesome. The hotel accomadations were surprisingly nice....clean spacious room. No view. The staff was corteous. The crowd was terrible. The setup of the hotel/casino is that is like a mall. Lots of cheap food (Sbarro, etc) which attracts TONS of walk in traffic from the boardwalk.. Large groups with lots of kids with coolers, sleeping in chairs, in the bathrooms. Definitely felt like I was at the mall.
Gambling: It was July 4 and busy but could not get to a table, not a seat available. Not a big deal for me since I was not there primarily for the gambling but a bit of a disappointment. The whole place stank of cigarette smoke, even the non-smoking areas.
Food: had a surprisingly good meal at Marc Anthonys Italian restaurant (all the others were booked). The food was very good, high marks for this. Not cheap $120 for 2.
Location: hotel/casino on the beach: so much potential. Right on boardwalk, right on beach, could be great. However, the boardwalk is cheesy, trashy stores, homeless sleeping under the docks, lots of garbage around. Not a pleasant experience. With a bit of work, this could be much improved.

“Trump Taj Mahal was fantastic”

My husband and I stayed at the Trump Taj Mahal this weekend and it was fantastic. We had a king size room. We used our military discount and saved $35 dollars on room cost. total $160. Great location on the boardwalk. The table games were $5 between 5am to 1130am. Dealers were friendly all day and night. I was new to playing 3 card poker and even at midnight when the tables were crowded the dealer took her time and explained everything to me even gave me some pointers same thing everywhere we went. Valet, reception, luggage storage, maid service. The staff was fantastic. Even one of the table floor managers went out of his way to get my husband a Trump card due to him not bring his license out the room and only having his military id. We ate at rim noodle and this was fantastic best potstickers we ever ate. We already made up our mind we are going back this summer. Also would like to say the Blue Martini happy hour 5 to 7 at Ballys was the best. Hypnotic Breezes everyone has to try this.

“Disappointed”

Trump Taj Mahal

Jun 6, 2008

Taj Mahal is over-rated and over-priced. I checked this hotel out before going there. Based on the reviews and the pictures online, I went to try it out. It was a bad choice. I should have gone to the other hotels on the strip. They were all cheaper based on the prices online. I'm pretty sure the service and quality of the stay would have been better or just comparable. Taj Mahal isn't worth it at all. The lamp on the table didn't turn on and the blow dryer in the bathroom didn't work. The light outside my room was flickering which made the hall way look scary and run down. For almost $200 a night, I really expected better from them. The room didn't look as nice as the entrance to the hotel. The entrance had a wow effect and the room was a big disappointment.
