we stayed in The Manor Hotel mid-January 2008 and moved to another hotel after the 2nd night (we should have left earlier).
the hotel is currently undergoing a massive construction - everything is dirty and dusty. I must say, that the hotel rooms were clean but very very basic. the beds were about the hardest we found in India. the most annoying thing about this place was the incredible noise level at night and in the early morning hours. the staff is constantly banging doors and shouting at each other. they don't seem to know how to communicate in another way. In addition to that, the reception staff constantly penetrated us to book a tour to ajanta and ellora with them. they called us at 10 pm at night and asked us first thing in the morning. my mum didn't feel well at all so we decided to be consequent and leave this mess. we then checked in the wonderful Ambassador Hotel which made us forget The Manor Hotel very quickly.
