Spent 4 nights at The Manor Hotel in late Feb 2008. I was informed by the hotel that airport pickup was complimentary. However, our car didn't come on that night. A driver came and told us that he was a friend of the driver whom we were waiting. In the end he took us to the hotel.
On the next morning, at 4am, we've got a morning call, reminding us TO DO THE CHECKOUT THIS MORNING!!! We were shocked and told the guy we still have a few days to stay here. He then cut off the line. We then heard the phone from next room rang. The guy had mistakenly morning-called us!!!
This was not the end of the story - at 8am, someone of the hotel knocked our door!!! As we both were ladies and a bit worried so didn't open the door. We asked who's outside but nobody reply.
After washing we got down to the reception and told the guy these 2 incidents but we didn't got the answers. It seemed that he knew nothing.
We have booked a car from the hotel to Ajanta caves. On the way back to the hotel, the driver stopped at a shop and said "himroo, himroo" (a kind of weaving which is famous in Aurangabad). We were angry as he didn't respect us at all - he didn't ask us if we want to go shopping, nor visit himroo factory before. We both said NO and refused to get off the car. He was NOT happy. Nor were we!!!
We have also booked a car on the last day to do some more sight-seeing. We've paid the money on the night before, but next morning a staff asked us to advance a few hundreds for the fuel!!! Actually I think all the staffs here were not very attentive and they didn't communicate with each other!
We spent US$55 per night here (actually we didn't know why they still need to convert US$55 to Rupees as the rates from the website were in Rupees - in the end we paid more Rupees than the amount from the website - we didn't want to argue about this with the staff, he's just a junior frontline and we just wanted to leave asap). The room was spacious and quite clean. But surely the staffs need lots of improvments.
