“Great hotel to stay in!”

Residence Inn Arlington Rosslyn

Nov 30, 2007

I booked this hotel because of the location of the hotel to the tourist areas of Washington. The hotel offers free internet and breakfast. The parking is $10.00 a day and your car is parked in a secuure underground garage.

This hotel is very nice. The rooms are like studio apartments. They come complete with a refrigerator, stove and microwave. The rooms also have a nice living room section with a sofa, table and study table. The beds are ok my only issue was that the bed was close to the window and I could feel the cold weather from the window. Not sure if all beds in the hotel are close to the window. My room was very clean.

The breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and waffles. The area was very clean and the workers often tested the temperature of the food to make sure it was safe to eat.

The rooms are located on the interior of the hotel. You need a room key in order to use the elevators to go to your room. This was a definite plus in my book for security.

Also the hotel is close to the subway. You can either walk or take a cab. I would suggest walking because it just a few blocks away. If you take the subway get the all day pass so that you can travel all around the city and not break your wallet.

“Good base for touring Washington”

Residence Inn Arlington Rosslyn

5 of 5 stars
Madison Heights VA
Oct 22, 2007

Our nine-year-old grandson had requested a trip to Washington for his birthday, so we booked three rooms for us, our two children, their spouses, and our three grandsons. I selected the Marriott Residence Inn for its proximity to the Metro, its large rooms with separate bedrooms and kitchens, and the included hot breakfast. I wasn't disappointed. It was an excellent base for our fabulous weekend in the Capital. Each room had a small kitchen with rangetop, microwave, dishwasher, sink, and full-size refrigerator. There was a toaster and a coffeemaker and plenty of silverware, dishes, and cookware. The living room featured a two-person kitchen table , a large desk, a recliner, a sofa bed, and TV. Coffee and microwave popcorn were furnished. The bedroom had a very comfortable queen-size bed and another TV. The vanity-dressing area was well furnished with bath products, and the bathroom had a combination tub-shower. Everything was attractive and well maintained, including the public areas and long carpeted hallways. Members of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Requests for directions to the Metro and the nearest grocery stores had been anticipated and were handed out on request. Both were an easy walk from the hotel. The buffet breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, do-it-yourself waffles, yogurt, fruit, cereal, pastries, juices, etc. The only negatives I could possibly find would be a slightly dark decor and a relatively small breakfast room for such a large hotel.
Our grandson had a wonderful birthday with his family, however, and I would return to this hotel in a minute.

“Very nice, comfortable, convenient”

Residence Inn Arlington Rosslyn

We spent 3 nights here, checking in on a Friday and out on Monday. The hotel was an easy walk from the Rosslyn metro station. The room was clean, comfortable and well furnished. We had dinner in the room one night, having purchased some groceries at the Safeway just a block away on Wilson. Breakfast each morning was plentiful and good. Like other posters have commented, on the weekend mornings the breakfast room was packed with people...they really do need more space. Plenty of hot options - eggs, sausage, biscuits, french toast, waffles...as well as an assortment of cereals, oatmeal, breakfast breads and pastries, coffee, juice, yogurt...pretty much anything you'd want.

Staff was accomodating, no issues whatsoever. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance and the location was an easy metro ride to just about anywhere you'd want to go.

This was my second stay in the Rosslyn area and I would not hesitate to stay in this area again...why pay double to stay in D.C. proper?

We stayed here 4 nights in June 2004.
This hotel is a 5 minute walk up hill from the subway stop at Rosslyn (and a quick 3/4 minute walk downhill from the hotel to the subway). We really liked being a little outside of the main tourist area of Washington DC. With the subway station so close and reasonably priced, it makes this hotel a good value also for tourists without the noise and crowds of downtown Washington DC.
There were always cookies out in the lobby and Monday-Thursday they provide everyone an evening snack, which is really a dinner. The menu is always posted in your hotel room,
Since it is a Residence in our room was equipped with a small kitchen, including a full size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and all of the pots, pans, plates, and silverware you would need. Our room was spacious, with a living room, kitchen/dining area, and separate bedroom area.
This hotel is also the perfect location to go visit the lesser known Theodore Roosevelt memorial on Theodore Roosevelt Island. The island is beautifully wooded with a lovely statue of Teddy. I've visited this place twice and only run into a 5-6 other tourists while there. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel.
