We had a very pleasant stay in this lovely hotel which combines 5 stars prestations with the advantage and charm of being small and private.
Special mention for the HUGE bed and the caipinrinha de maracuja on the panoramic terrasse.

This is a great hotel in the middle of Pelourinho. The rooms are very nice and the location is very central. The hosts and staff are very friendly and professional. It is worth the money!
Everyone at Casa do Amerelindo was so nice and accomodating, the owners/managers Gilles and Didier and Sammy in particular. My husband and I had such a nice stay at this hotel. All we had to do was snap our fingers and they would get us whatever we needed. It's a truly elegant hotel in the historic neighborhood Pelourhino. Such care went into constructing this building and the owners put an equal amount of care into its maintenance. I almost booked a hotel in the Barra instead but am so glad that I didn't. I loved the historic neighborhood and Casa do Amarelindo's location was truly ideal. The food at the hotel is wonderful. I honestly couldn't wait to wake up in the morning because I looked so forward to the breakfasts. Mmmm delicious. Still crave them. Oh and their resident dog Brunel at the hotel is so cute.

Business serviceIt's difficult to find anything to say about this hotel that hasn't been said already, it's quite simply fabulous. We stayed for 4 nights as the first part of a 10 day trip to Bahia and had a wonderful time. Everyone at the hotel was incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived, collecting us from the airport, helping us sort out our missing luggage, keeping the bar and kitchen open late. Exactly the kind of service you want from a boutique hotel, especially after 14 hours of travelling.
The hotel itself is very well positioned in the middle of Pelourinho district of Salvador, which incidently we felt perfectly safe walking around in, and the building has been brilliantly refurbished with all the public areas and rooms being finished to a very high standard.
The pool terrace, rooftop bar and restuarant all rate very highly in my memories and we spent many happy hours in each. However, the thing that really makes this place special is the owners and staff. Giles and Didier are excellent hosts and really looked after us. The staff throughout the hotel were helpful, attentive and were always willing to do that bit extra for you. Sami (spelling??) in particular was brilliant, and helped us with our attempts at Portugeuse far more than we could help him with his English!
To sum up, Salvador was a fun, buzzing city that we will definitely go back to, especially if someone can start direct flights from the UK and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere but here as we don't believe we could find anywhere better. One of the very best places we have ever stayed in!

ServiceI just came from a weekend breake in Salvador. It´s hard to any other small charming hotels in Brazil to bet Casa do Amarelindo for many reasons: personal attention given by the owners to their guests (which makes a great difference to the other properties), quality of bed linen and confort of the rooms, a beautiful view to the Todos os Santos Bay in the afternoon (don´t miss the sunset from the bar terrace!), great great food with an inventive menu proposal, the quietness inside the rooms provided by the sound-proof windows and doors, absolutely great location in the heart of Pelourinho and a friendly staff. What else can one want?
Don´t leave Casa do Amarelindo without trying their tasteful caipirinhas made with fresh tropical fruits. I can even give you a suggestion for a drink (which is not on their menu): I asked them to prepare a caipirinha mixing together all fruits that they had (with exception of limon) with the cachaça made in Chapada Diamantina/Bahia. It was simply one of the most tasteful caipirinha I have ever tried! Believe me, you won´t be disappointed!
I hope Casa do Amarelindo can keep the same staff and services in years to come and continue to keep it´s high quality standard!
Liked: Confort of the rooms, décor and good maintenance of all the areas of the hotel, well trained staff and personalized attention of the owners, turning your stay a memorable one. This you´ll never get all this together in a 5* hotel, believe me! Disliked: nothing that I could possibly mention.
