We are locals and decided to try the Millennium and their famous $100 for $100 promo. The property's location is great, right in central Scottsdale. There is lots of free parking. It's located on a 40-acre man-made lake, which is very picturesque. Fishing and boating are available, but we spent most of our time in the pool.
The resort has only one pool, and it is actually on the small size, considering how many people the hotel can hold at capacity. We were there on a weekend, and the hotel couldn't have been more than 50% full. Pool towels, cold water, and a nearby bar are available. The jacuzzi is fairly large and actually felt very good after an evening's swm.
We paid $129 per night and received $100 food credit for each day of our stay. The food credit does not cover gratuities. It was convenient to eat most of our meals right there, but for more than a couple of days I think the menu would get boring. Room service was prompt and courteous, but requested items, such as ranch dip for hot wings and salad dressing on the side, were missing. Prices higher than other hotels we have stayed in, i.e. a yogurt/fruit/granola parfait for $11. As a heads up, we ended up spending more than $170/night once taxes, resort fees, and 3 food gratuities were added.
The beds and pillows weren't the best, room decor was more LaQuinta than "Scottsdale resort", we could easily hear noises in the hallways and the room nextdoor. I honestly expected a much higher quality for the money. (Summer is low season in the Phoenix area, and resorts have special offers to attract the locals.)
The kids had fun, the food was good, but next time we'll stay somewhere else.
