We just returned from Sedona and enjoyed a full week at the Summit. The two bedroom provided great accomodations for our family of five! Each teenage son had his own bed (two slept on the pull out sofas). After reading previous reviews, I called two days before to request a condo with a view. Our room and balcony overlooked the beautiful red rocks and we enjoyed a sunrise view each morning. The front desk really delivered when they put us in Building 20 in the upstairs unit #255!
We exchanged our TS for this one and were extremely pleased when we walked in the door to find it very clean with upgrades such as tile floors in kitchen and baths. The resort is definately worthy of its Gold Crown status with RCI. The kitchen was well equipped although we ate most meals out. We really enjoyed the large master suite with a safe for jewelry and a two person jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Although the furniture was not new, it was in very good condition. The only thing that bothered me was that the art was hung too high (I'm an interior designer, so that explains it) I did enjoy the decor and the architecture of the Summit--really gives the pueblo experience!
There are several pools, including an adult only pool. Each pool has a spa and there are a couple of other spas throughout the complex. The pool area was well maintained and we enjoyed meeting other TS travelers. We loved swapping stories of our day's adventures while in the spa.
Unlike previous reviewers opinions, I did not think the Summit staff was high pressure. I was ready when they sent us over to the concierage desk for our parking permit--the young lady recommended that we attend a Thursday presentation to see the newer section and offered a generous voucher to the Cowboy Club. I said that I would let her know later in the week. By Thursday AM, we decided we could spare the 90 minutes for the presentation. We called the concierage desk and booked the 2:30 tour. A couple of minutes later, she called back and told us that they were completely booked. I was really surprised. Needless, to say, we didn't do the tour nor did we get the credit. Still went to the Cowboy Club and enjoyed a great meal. Our guys decided to spend the afternoon at Slide Rock for a second time--we had a blast. They enjoyed the scenery (meaning all the young girls in bikini's!)
The resort offered great activities for kids, but we opted out for other daytime adventures. Make sure to go on the Pink Jeep Broken Arrow tour! You'll love it!!
