I've stayed at hotel numerous occasions over the past 12 years. I've noted in the tripadvisor review several comments concerning "needs renovation". Truth be told I am not the one to obsess over faded drapes, or patched in the wall paper. I'm most concerned with cleanliness, convenience, comfort. However hotels, with heavy usage and guest expectations, need regular renovations so I managed to stay in a recently renovated room on this past trip to Arizona.
Outside there is not much indication of the renovations. The lobby how has one of those ubiquitous checkin/out kiosks, and there is a general refurbishment of the common area furniture. The breakfast/reception bar looks about the same. The renovations to the rooms have been extensive. There is a less cluttered, more dramatic look to the sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. Like many other upper scale brands, upgraded bedding covers bedspreads, body pillows head pillows. The bathroom features higher end shampoo/conditioner/ soaps/lotion. Towels are discreetly stored in a shelf underneath the sink along with hairdryer and toilet paper, so that the walls are more open clear of the inevitable towel rack. Sitting room decor, as with the entire room, features more dark paneled wood trim furniture with an upgraded business desk with a convenient power/internet outlet. A pull out sofa bed remains in the sitting room, making this attractive for families. The rather large pool (30-35' long) with an adjacent compact jacuzzi hot tub remain as during previous stays.
Embassy Suites, continues with its tradition of space, convenience, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere.
