“Just OK”

TownePlace Suites Tempe

3 of 5 stars
Natick,Massachusetts
Apr 27, 2008

My family stayed at this hotel while visiting ASU for their college tour. It was tricky to find at night as the signage is not very good.

We arrived a little tired, but there were no sheets on the pull-out couch, so we waited and waited and finally had to call twice to get the sheets so we all could get to bed.

The beds were very soft and the AC was very noisy, which drove us crazy.

On the plus side, the breakfast is very good. There was enough nice seating in the lobby and you could even sit outside on nice picnic tables. The selection was good, including some hot items.

The shower was very good as well.

Overall, we found this hotel to be just OK. This was our first time to Tempe, and I think the next time we will stay closer to ASU and Mill ave. The area that this hotel is located is a 15-20 minute trafficky drive from downtown.

“Overall, a Nice Stay!”

TownePlace Suites Tempe

I stayed in the TownePlace Suites in Tempe with my brother and dad from Friday to today, which is Monday. I am actually typing this review on one of the computers at the hotel right now! We stayed to see some Spring Training baseball, and overall, it was a nice stay.

We had come here a few years ago, and were pleased to find that the hotel had been remodeled! There is now a large lobby with a big TV, two computers, and couches. This is where the breakfast is served, too.

The breakfast is pretty good with an average selection of food. There is coffee available all day. Unfortunately, the food is cleared at 10:00 in the morning on the weekend and 9:00 on weekdays; not good for people who sleep in!

We stayed in a two bedroom suite. The room was very clean, except for the carpet, which left our feet black at the end of the day. The sofa bed, which I slept on, was as good as it could be. The TV was extremely outdated, but worked.

The staff was overall, pleasant and helpful. When I went to the lobby for a hot drink and found that I had forgotten my key to get back into one of the buildings to get back to my room, a guy working on a light pole let me back in, which was very nice.

One unpleasant experience we had was when my dad asked the girl in the lobby to deliver another blanket to our room. She said there were none available, but she would get us one as soon as possible. She delivered it at midnight that night, when we were all asleep, accompanied by another guy. When they knocked on the door, I didn't hear them at all, since I was asleep. Then they said, "We are going to leave if you don't open the door!" I dragged myself out of bed and got the blanket, and they left.

The pool is small and fairly clean with a lot of chairs, tables, and towels available. There is no lifeguard. There are some vending machines in the pool area, too, if you want to buy a soda or water. You need your room key to access the pool area. There is a picnic area with a table and barbeque between the two buildings.

The thing we like about the hotel the best is the huge grassy area behind the hotel. It's great for just playing catch or relaxing. There is a picnic table there, too, but the grass is sometimes really wet from being watered, so you have to be careful.

All in all, our stay was great and we really enjoyed our vacation!

“Great rooms!”

I had a studio room and could not have asked for more! It had a nice little kitchen, couch, desk/table, and a comfy bed. The staff was wonderful and the location was good (lots of dining around). The only two negitives (which the positives all but eliminate) is that when I stopped to have breakfast on my way out at around 9am they had already started to remove food. There was bread and bagles left but nothing to put on them, and some old looking fruit :(... also, I did not care much for the area to the south (I think south- not the mall side) of the hotel. I cannot say that it is not safe, for I do not any if the stats, but what I can say is that I did not like driving through it at night alone. However, even with this I felt perfectly safe in the hotel, even as a women staying solo.
.
I would stay here again for sure!

“Can't Go Wrong”

TownePlace Suites Tempe

4 of 5 stars
Albuquerque, New Mexico

We arrived here after dark and had a few confusing moments as we tried to locate the property. The lobby is spacious and nicely decorated. Check-in was efficient. I was a little leery as we walked down the narrow, drab hallway to our room. My fears were quickly allayed when we entered the room. It had a compact but well-designed and efficient design. A small kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, and modest supply of kitchen utensils separated the bed from the bathroom. A small living room extended from both the kitchen and sleeping area. Our room was absolutely spotless and had a comfortable queen-sized bed.

We never heard another sound all night long. Breakfast included scrambled eggs and sausage and the typical sides (cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, yogurt).

Upon check out, I was asked about our stay. I was specifically and sincerely asked if they can do anything to improve the property. I was very happy to report that it was an A+ experience. One of the front-desk staff even took time to provide a Mapquest print out of directions to a restaurant I had asked about.

I highly recommend this hotel. If you plan to shop at Arizona Mills Outlets, you can’t find a better location. Rates are a bargain for what you get.

“A Wee Gem of a Place”

TownePlace Suites Tempe

5 of 5 stars
Aberdeen, United Kingdom
Sep 26, 2007

This is an absolute gem of a place to stay. We were $79 for a huge suite with bed, lounge area and small kitchen with fridge freezer, microwave etc.

Clean, comfortable and with some fast food locations right near by it was perfect for our overnight stay.
