“$39 Priceline steal!”

TownePlace Suites Tempe

4 of 5 stars
Pacific Palisades, CA
Aug 20, 2007

We got this great room for just $39 on Priceline, its hot in August, so the rates are soft like the asphalt!

Rooms are great and cool, pool in the courtyard is small but nice, and a big area of grass behind the buildings to walk the dogs the hotel lets stay for $75 (how that fee is more than double the room rate is hard to fathom).

“Great for traveling teen baseball team”

TownePlace Suites Tempe

4 of 5 stars
Tucson, Arizona
May 30, 2007

Four families of our 15U baseball team stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. We each booked a ground floor 2 bedroom for $99 per night. The rooms were nice size, clean and the beds were comfortable. Each bedroom had a queen size bed plus there is a sofa sleeper in the living room, which allowed an extra player to crash for the night. There is a full kitchen that had everything we needed for our short busy stay - we didn't use it much. Only one bathroom but clean and shower was great.

The hotel is near I-10 and 60 which made for easy travel to our games in Chandler and Scottsdale. It is walking distance to the Arizona Mills Mall which the boys loved. The hotel staff was nice and accomodated our early check in and late check out due to our game times. The breakfast in the morning was great, even though we had to eat and run. There is a gas bbq grill near the pool and the front desk has utensils you can borrow which made for a fun night with the team. The laundry room has only one working washing machine and on our first night the washer was already in use so the front desk staff called the Marriot next door to tell them we were headed over to use their washers for $1.50 per load. We washed the uniforms there and then dried at our hotel. The washers and dryers are complimentary at the TownePlace Suites Tempe - you can't beat free, but you've got to beat the other teams to the washer!! There was also a basketball team staying the weekend we were there. The front desk has detergent for sale, but we brought our own. The ice machine was not working during our stay there, but there is a gas station on the corner. All in all, we had a nice stay and our team will stay here again.

“good, clean place”

TownePlace Suites Tempe

tried to get a hotel for peak Spring Training time, this place had the best AAA rates. Had stayed at the Townsplace in Denver and the same good solid stay here, I think Tempe is better. First of all, early checkin before 2pm, choice of three floors. Was explained by Janell, desk clerk, of the evening drinks and light breakfast in the morning. Drinks and light finger food only Mon to Weds, breakfast seven days a week and never seems crowded.
The room has the kitchenette with pots, pans, utencils, plates and bowls, dishwasher, mircowave, a toaster and works. A CVS drugstore is across the street (very busy street, be cafeful crossing) and a supermarket is less than a mile away. I believe there is a hotel shuttle which might drive you there as I saw it pulling away from the Fry's super and I was coming out of the store. The AC was noisy, but other than that, excellent place.
If you want to save money on snacks, take an extra cereal, milk, yogart and sodas during the comp serving and bring it back to the room.

“Highly Recommended”

TownePlace Suites Tempe

The Townplace Suites Rocks! The rate was super for January ($94 per night) and we had a nice sized suite which included a sofa/sleeper, kitchenette and a queen sized bed. The hotel has a nice foyer/lobby with two PCs and a printer in their business center and they even had a swimming pool (outdoor/heated) and a nice exercise room. They didn't have a hot tub but the Springhill Suites next door does and you can use it with your Townplace Suites Key.

The best part of this hotel/suites is the food! The hot breakfast was a real treat and every morning in addition to their regular offerings they had a special hot breakfast entree (Mexican Eggs, Biscuits and Gravy, etc). Also Mon-Wed they Manager hosted a reception from 5-7 pm and there was food and free beer and wine. One night it was hot dogs and pretzels, another night was chicken wings and the other night was meatball subs! YUM!

The people are very friendly and I would recommend this hotel to anybody. Our room had a bit of a funny smell but not enough to cause a fuss. Give this one a try and you will not be disappointed. The location is pretty convenient as well as you are close to I-10 and Baseline.
