This place is really cool. Totally relaxing. It is set very close to the beach and the ocean breeze eliminates the need for AC. The sound of the waves against the beach will put you to sleep in minutes at night.
The property is a short drive from Cabarate, which is a surfing, wind surfing and kite boarding international destination.
You can go into town for some action, and then back to the property for tranquility.
The restaurant on the location is top notch. Peter ( cheeky) can hook you up with anyone. He can arrange lessons of any kind, surfing to kite boarding to buying artwork.
The people in general are very friendly and the staff at this little gem are fabulous and always smiling.
I have traveled the world extensively and i would absolutely recommend this place and plan on going back again.

Just returned from Natura Cabanas and we're already thinking about going back in January.
Don't even think about going there if you are looking for a party hotel, animation staff, loud and drunk guests...This hotel is for people who need and want to relax.
It's perfectly located between Cabarete and Sosua. It is NOT in Puerto Plata. i think that is a little bit missleading. It's a short taxi ride to Cabarete or Sosua ($10) where you can find great dining options - especially in Cabarete..Dining at the beach. Fantastic.
The Hotel itself is small, secluded, right @ the beach. The Cottages are clean and big. The Restaurant is run by an Austrian Chef - therefore the food is great - a little on the expensive side but great. Try the Ceviche - Yummy.
All you hear @ night is the ocean and the sounds of the jungle.
The owners - Peter and Belen - are great people and are always available you need someting. The Staff is nice and helpfull. The Beach is a private beach and is cleaned every morning. You can walk for miles at the beach. you like Yoga? Awesome Yoga Temple @ the Beach. Didn't try their spa. Check their website before you book. The website is not missleading but rather shows the hotel how it is.

Natura Cabanas is the perfect beach getaway for people who love serenity and nature. The staff is very attentive and gracious, the food was glorious, the beach is quiet and private, and the ocean lulled us to sleep every night. You can spend your entire vacation without leaving Natura Cabanas or the staff can help you arrange horseback rides on the beach and the mountains or a relaxing tour of the beautiful beaches along the north shore. Each private cabana is decorated differently, using elemnets from nature, and have comfortable hammocks on their secluded porches. The spa massages are beyond relaxing.

Our cabana was simple, yet luxurious. Stone walls with shells imbedded!
Lots of windows with screens & shutters only (no glass) for a great breeze - ceiling fans in every room - no airconditioning - trust me - you don't need it . .
and the sound of the ocean a constant . . .
staff is warm and friendly . . .
The location is perfect - secluded yet only 10 minute taxi ride to busy downtown Cabarete with lots of great restaurants.

A wonderful paradise getaway, we didn't want to leave!
