“Love Bermuda - but not the Pink Beach Club”

To be fair, let me say upfront that we didn't complete our stay at the Pink Beach Club so I can't really testify to the "whole experience". What I can say with confidence is that the food we had at lunch while we were waiting to check in was not terrible, but not really good either. And the wait staff seemed abrupt although the restaurant was not busy. The grounds are nice and the view of the ocean spectacular, but once we did check in we were sorely dissapointed. Its evident the rooms are in need of maintenance as we had a missing ceiling fan (just the blue electric plate was showing) some bugs in the cottage and very, very threadbare lounge chairs outside. For the cost of the rooms, I would have expected better than Holiday Inn quality sheets and quilts as well (actually, I've stayed in Holiday Inns that were in better shape than this place.) After about 2 hours, we packed up and moved to the Fairmont Princess in Hamilton.

“Great little spot”

Pink Beach Club & Cottages

Jul 27, 2008

First time to Bermuda, picked this property based mostly on reviews on Tripadvisor. This was a quick getaway (4 nights) and we were very pleased with The Pink Beach Club. It is a little older, like most of the properties in Bermuda seem to be, but it is very well maintained. It is a smaller property which we liked, our room was literally steps from a great beach (the property has two), and everything is just a couple of minutes walk. Food was very good, service is very good and very friendly. Workout room is so-so but certainly adequate. They have 2 tennis courts as well and a smallish pool at the main building. Overall, we were very happy with this spot, it's a quick flight from NYC and the hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport.

“Beautiful Bermuda”

Pink Beach Club & Cottages

We thoroughly enjoyed a recent trip to Bermuda, for the UK readers think a caribbean island crossed with Cornwall!! The Pink Beach Club was the perfect home from home, we were stayed in Beach 6 which has the most amazing view of the white/Pink (really!) beach all of about 4 metres from the terrace. The room was comfortable, very comfy bed, good shower. To be critical the cleaning standard was okay not brilliant and we did discover 2 leaks in the roof on one very heavy shower! The restaurants are amazing, absolutely stunning food, we had our 2 year old with us and the kids menu was also great. The staff are all brilliant and genuinely want you to have a great time there. If you are expecting the finest of furnishings and luxurious trappings with every mod con the rooms will disappoint as there is no TV and the furnishings are nice but not extravagant. You are paying for the view, the service and the food which is all spectacular. I would highly recommend and will be returning in the future,

“Had a Wonderful Time”

Pink Beach Club & Cottages

Jul 12, 2008

My wife and I spent 6 wonderful days at the Pink Beach Club! The weather was beautiful. The room we had was well maintained and offered a beautiful view of the ocean. We had lunch three days by the pool. Service was excellent and the food was more than adequate. Lunch provided a nice break from the sun on the beach. The beach itself was clean and not crowded. We spent most of the days reading on the lounge chairs there, and looking for passing longtails and cruise ships in the distance. We opted for dinners in the more formal dining room. The food was excellent and the wait staff friendly and attentive.
There are no TV's in the rooms, but that was no problem at all. There is a TV in the main building where you could find most people watching the tennis from Wimbledon. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever been on. We'd go back in a minute ( Ok - it is a little pricey, but certainly worth it. Maybe we will wait a few years before heading back).

“Not for kids!”

Pink Beach Club & Cottages

2 of 5 stars
New Canaan Conneticut

I will admit that this hotel is beautiful and appropriate for adults. They advertise that their hotel is "KID FRIENDLY".. But the truth is, the kids menu is the only thing kid friendly at this hotel. Thou the staff was nice enough and we did encounter a couple of shining star waitstaff, most were just indifferent in general. The service was so slow it was painful. Most of the staff are healthy and young so I don't know what the explanation was for the poor service except for a strong case of apathy. Most just didn't seem to care. -- And just a small tid-bit of info...the pool is half salt water so if you have a little one that is sensitive to the water beware of that detail. After awhile my daughter found it too painful for her eyes and just didn't swim. In fact there is a lot of detail that we could never have known unless we actually spent time at this hotel. We stayed at one of the most expensive cottages Pink Beaches has to offer and yet our room was littered with small tiny ants...most of them dead hanging out on the window sills. And thou we tried to just past it off and let it go, they basically remained there even after the cleaning crew came through once a day. The shoreline, thou breathtaking in itself, was much too trecherous for young ones like our children (ages 4 & 6). We had to litterally be by their side every second they were near the water for fear of them getting swepted away. It was nerve racking. And speaking of nerve racking...thou the staff seem to tolerate the (very few by the way) young children we noticed there during our stay, the guest did not. We were pitted with dirty looks and stares as our children frockicked in the pool, going to and from our cottage and in when we were dining.
At home we dine out often and travel often too and we take our kids with us everywhere so our kids were as well behaved as a 4 and 6 year can be. However, the enviroment lent itselt to us feeling like we had to constantly tell our children to be quite. That made for a stressful time for both my husband and I. Shhh'ing small children on their vacation doesn't seem right.
Overall, the property itself...meaning where it actually sits on the Island is very beautiful. The actual property itself needs some work. The rooms wheren't much to look at either. It's an old property.
Truth be told... 4 days into our stay at the Pink Beaches we checked out early. Too much money for not enough return.
This property seems to cater to the older couple. I wouldn't even reccomend to a young honeymooner. And most definately NOT to a family of young children.
As a final note, we did go to the Grotto Bay for lunch which seem to be extremely friendly. And the after checking out of Pink Beaches, we checked into the The Fairmont SouthHampton for litterally 2nights and a day, but still worth the inconvienance of repacking and unpacking. The Fairmont SouthHampton is very kid friendly & clean in everyway. The pool service was pretty awesome too. :)
Happy Travels......
