My fiance and I just returned from a 4 night stay at Pink Beach Club. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The suite we had was on the beach, and the crash of waves and the singing of tree frogs lulled us to sleep at night. This was our first trip to Bermuda and we were not aware that the hotel was not within walking distance to anything, although it was a magical retreat. We took a taxi tour for 4 hours on a rainy day and the pink bus on two other occasions. (The bus drivers can go head to head with Nascar drivers any day.) We were unaware that the front desk offers discounted bus tickets, and were unable to come up with $6 in coins at the bus stop at first, then purchased a sheet of tickets in town at a bus depot. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and windy two days, so we were unable to do much outdoors. Although there was no TV in the suites, we caught up on book reading and during the election, watched the results with other guests in a gathering room, which was a throw back to another time. We had the MAP plan, which included breakfast and dinner. The meals are nicely prepared, although the menu does not change that much. Nearly every night there was musical entertainment in the dining room, jazz, cabaret piano--all of a high caliber. The maintenance of the suite we had left a little to be desired, as did the housekeeping. The rains brought 45-50 mph winds which leaked into the windows and passed like streams into the tile grout. The floors were damp, and our clothes hanging in the closet began to smell like mold. The outdoor crew never came by to clean up the downed branches, tossed pillows and chairs etc. Our housekeeper did not respond to notes about ants on the counter where the coffee maker is kept, or for requests for replenished shower caps or pens. We don't think she cleaned any of the counters or surfaces in the room during our stay. We enjoy coffee and I am lactose intolerant and cannot have sugar. We were surprised that there was no non dairy creamer offered at the restaurant or saccarine/aspartame (although there were both at the airport of all places). The housekeeper brought us non dairy creamer in coffe packets, but after a couple of days stopped. When we checked out, there was a $166 overcharge that the front desk was aware of and yet presented us with an inaccurate bill. The people were very friendly, not just at the hotel but nearly every place we went. The hotel has a computer room with free internet connection, which was a plus. We wished there had been an in-room refrigerator or microwave--we brought back a mussel pie, a local delicacy, from a bakery, and were unable to salvage it after the first few slices. The beach is the focal point of this place--it is mesmerizing.
