For over 10 years now, Our family has been coming to Bakersfield for racing events at Famoso Raceway. Residence Inn is always our first choice. We've stayed at many other hotels in the area ( when we didn't get our reservation in quick enough). This hotel has never disappointed us. The staff has always been nice and friendly. The rooms have always been spotless. The breakfast buffet is the best around. My kids love the pool, basketball and tennis courts. The rooms have been recently renovated with nice extra touches here and there. We'll be back in March!

What an impressive one night stay. While traveling from SF to Anaheim, this was the only location we could find a Marriott property, to stay for one night, that would break up the 6 hour drive on I-5. We had a 2 king bed room suite on the second floor. It was updated, clean, spacious. Free internet use too. Used the kitchen to make dinner since we were all tired of eating out. All anemities were provided in the kitchen, right down to the dishwasher detergent. There is a Vons grocery store 10 minutes down the road if you need it. However, they have complimentary, nightly barbecues if you happen to stay Mon-Thurs. Having 2 full bathrooms was also great with 3 kids & 2 adults. The pool is small but clean. The laundry area is right next to the pool, so I was able to do laundry & watch the kids swim. The front desk will make change for the laundry machines too. The complimentary breakfast was impressive too. Areas were all clean with standard continental breakfast food, in addition to make your own hot waffles, eggs, sausage, or home-fries. The hot choices were a nice change. This Marriott property truly lived up to the Marriott name.

My brief stay at the Residence Inn in Bakersfield CA was a completely worry-free and pleasant experience. The room was clean and large and the price was well worth it. The staff was very courteous and friendly.

I looked online at reviews of other hotels with similar ratings and this hotel was the only one with 5 star guest reviews. That was good enough for me and once I stayed there I could see why.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Bakersfield, CA, this is a great choice.

Property needs some work and repairs. Check your room before settling in to make sure everything is working and included (i.e. dishes, etc.). At least one night, they ran out of food before close of hospitality hours. Usually Residence is better than this one.
