My daughter and I were looking for a safe and reasonably priced place to stay on a recent vacation (8/2007) in the area of Mono Lake and Yosemite. I found this location on the internet and, based on the previous review written in 2006 was a little hesitant to book the site. But, it was in our price range and location so I took our chances and braced myself for the worse. I was VERY pleasantly surpised to enjoy a wonderful experience and was greeted with hospitality by the camp host during our stay. The place is run on a small town honor system, the cabins are not locked so you simply find your cabin, tent cabin, etc when you arrive. I was given the information I needed to do so when I reserved the site, but I checked in with the office/restaurant when we arrived. All I had to do was ring the doorbell at the office door and someone from the restaurant greeted me and informed me to help myself to the cabin I had reserved. The motel room we stayed in our last night was the best part of the deal, not at all what I expected for a sleepy little town's motel. It was wonderfully covered in a rich wood paneling making it appear as though we were staying in a log cabin, from floor to ceiling including the shower. Great place, we will definitely be staying again. It is close to the main highway 395, so road traffic may keep you up at night if you are a light sleeper and are facing the road.
