I'm aware of the fact that this is an Inn/motel in a small town, not a high-profile hotel or anything, but concidering its among the most expensive ones in town, I was suprised by quite a few things.
when arriving in Cambria, I had a slight fever and was greeted by a room temperature of 54°F. the AC/heating was turned off and two windows were left open, this was probably one of the coldest day in decemeber. I guess the idea was to get some fresh air in before the guest arrived but this was a bit too much, it took a few hours to get the room closer to 70 degrees.
the room itself was a pretty standard motel room, a bit shabby but quite clean. the bathroom seemed quite new and was very nice and clean. what kind of irked me were the bedsheets that had quite a bit of holes in them. when pulling the cover off of the bed, I found some twigs and other potpourri looking stuff in the sheets! most of the towels in the room had small tears in them with yarns hanging from corners. I think an upgrade in linens would be in order considering the price level.
the front door of the building downstairs had one of those doorbells that ring when someone opens the door or walks past it. for some reason, we could hear this bell extremely well into our bathroom, after rushing to the door a couple of times I realized it came from down stairs. There was a connecting door in our room through which we could hear a couple arguing in the other room late at night, every sigh was quite hearable in our room.
"Okay, but some problems" is a pretty good description for this place. if the room was $100 less, I wouldn't probably complain about most of the stuff, but being one of the most expensive hotels/inns in town should require some standards and less flaws.
