When we arrived to check in, the manager was in a shouting match with a couple in the lobby. We should have left right then, but hotels.com - who had booked us, had explained when we booked there was nothing else in the San Diego area. They had booked us 2 rooms. The first had an adult and 2 children ages 5 and 7. It was to have 1 bed and a roll away. The second room had 2 adults and a 15 year old child. 1 bed and a roll away, as well. Upon checking in, the man working told us that we had only reserved for 3 adults, and no children, and that we were "trying to pull something". I asked to get online, and download our hotels.com confirmation, but he stated the internet was not working "can't you read the sign???". He then stated that these rooms can not have a roll away in them,
because "it is never done - it is a fire hazard". At this time, the shouting female was outside with other dissatisfied guests. He explained that if we had in fact TRIED to book rooms in this way - with a rollaway bed - we would have been told no. He then said that we shouldn't lie when we book rooms. He told me that we were trying to pull something, and we owed him another $40.00 for our 4th adult. We had no 4th adult, I told him my son is 15 years old. He said that I owed him an extra $20.00, then. I asked if he was telling me that not only did my son not have a bed to sleep in, but I was to pay an extra $20.00 for him? He said "That'sright". There is much more, but this should paint a clear picture.
We gave up and left, it was worth the drive all the way home to get away from there! Before we left, I asked the manager for her name, and sherefused to give it, but screamed profanities at us out in the parking lot, in front of our kids, and others headed to the pool. Besides the incredibly rude staff, I agree with the other reviewer. Very seedy. I would never have my worst enemy stay here.
