My friends and I had been partying all night at one of the local day spas and we needed a place to stay. The Spa Hotel was the closest one, but we only went there after we were told the miracle springs was booked.
The guy at the night desk gave us the wrong key to the room and after trying to find our room in a darkly lit maze of rooms, we were finally able to get into the room.
The room was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. I can understand the decor would be outdated in a place with a sign like that on the street, but there is NO EXCUSE for checking guests into a room that has not been cleaned.
It's not entirely the night desk guy's fault though. This would have to do with housekeeping. I imagine there must be some unhappy workers at this place. The bedspread was pulled back on both beds, just in the corner. So whoever had slept there before us just pulled back the sheets and that was it. The way they left it was the way we found it. And housekeeping said this room was clean?
It was about 3 in the morning and we were too tired to go back and complain, besides, at a place like that, you can tell that complaining wont do any good. We pulled off all the sheets to make sure there were no bed bugs, but the light in the room was too poor to see anything.
We were only there about 4 hours, no one could really sleep comfortably wondering if we were going to get crabs or bed bugs at this place.
Luckily our cars weren't broken into, but it was very difficult trying to find a place that i felt would be safe to leave them alone for a few hours.
I've managed hotels in the past, and I can tell the manager at this place one thing ... you need to keep your employees happy. The morale with your staff is so low, it shows in their work. And if I can go to the coffee shop in town and hear so much about you without being from around here ... well, that says it all. And I know I will never stay at your place again.
