“Good value”

Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim/Garden Grove

4 of 5 stars
Colorado
Jul 3, 2008

Stayed here after leaving Anaheim Hilton due to noisy renovations, and recommend you do the same. This Hilton, still less than a mile from the convention center and Disneyland, is a much better value and quieter than Hilton near convention center. Check-in and out was smooth, comfortable and clean and updated rooms with free internet access in rooms and business center. Nice amenities of small refrigerator and microwave, flat screen TV, and quality bath soaps. I stayed in a room overlooking the pool and hot tub; and some late night noise from the party going on the patio near the pool, and street traffic. Also has fitness room, which I did not have time to use.
Very good hot breakfast, which would be better only if it was complimentary with the room. Friendly and helpful staff at the desk and the breakfast room. Good value and comfortable stay.

“Outstanding QUIET hotel - Superb staff!”

We stayed there on May 7-10, 2008.

THE ROOMS: The rooms are very quiet and nicely appointed. Lots of Neutrogena amenities. Room includes a microwave and a refrigerator (!). The beds are very comfortable.

THE STAFF: This hotel had, perhaps, the BEST hotel staff I have ever dealt with. They are all remarkably outgoing and quite anxious to help you have a great stay. I was very impressed.

THE PROPERTY: The lobby features a "Pantry" filled with cold drinks and sandwiches, as well as all kinds of things you may need or want or may have forgotten. You just take what you need and they charge it to your room. This is a great feature that came in very handy.

Another plus of this property is that is has a sophisticated "Hilton" feel, which means that there are not lots of screaming kids running all over the place. It is a quiet and well-kept property.

If you are the type who likes personalized service and a friendly helpful staff that greets you each time you enter the lobby, then this is the hotel for you.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

(By the way, we took a taxi to Disneyland from the hotel. It was about $6 each way - that's about the same you would pay for parking at Disneyland.)

“Reasonable alternative to Disney Hotels”

Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim/Garden Grove

5 of 5 stars

On a recent trip to LA, my girlfriend and I decided that a visit to Disneyland was in order. Having looked at a variety of hotels I decided to give the Hilton Garden Inn a chance mainly due to the incredibly low rate being offered on the Hilton website. I figured we'd be in the room overnight so if it wasn't great it wouldn't matter.

Upon arrival at the hotel I was pleasantly surprised. The entrance and lobby looked very nice and the availability of free self parking was great. We were quickly checked in to the hotel and shown up to the 3rd floor by the person who checked us in. Our room was a good size with a view overlooking the car park. Whilst this wasn't a great view, it was away from the road and the associated noise so we were pleased!

The room was well appointed with a great ergonomic desk chair. The TV was a good size and positioned so that it could be seen from either the bed or the comfy chair in the corner of the room. The bathroom was also a good size with a full size bath and shower. The entire room was spotlessly clean with an air conditioner near the window which could be set to a comfortable temperature using a control panel in the room.

As my girlfriend and I were tired we went down to the pool for an hour or so and had a bit of a swim at 5pm. At this time there were relatively few people around the hotel and nobody by the pool. The pool itself was a good size, although I can imagine it could get quite crowded when the hotel is full of Disneyland visitors and their children!

After our swim we visited the hotel shop to grab some snacks and drinks as we figured we'd maybe watch a film or something. I was expecting to be completely ripped off (as is often the case with hotel gift shops), however 2 beers, a bottle of water, a tin of microwave soup, some crisps and some junior mints came to around $13 which I thought was pretty good for a hotel gift shop purchases. I certainly didn't feel that I'd been ripped off and in fact I thought the person behind the desk had made a mistake until I saw the items listed on my bill!

After a good sleep we got up early in preparation for a full day at Disneyland. We had a quick breakfast in the hotel which was very good. There was a cold buffet with cooked to order hot food provided by waitress service. I felt that the breakfast service was excellent given the small price paid for the room and this alone would encourage me to stay at a Hilton Garden Inn again.

I was really impressed with the Hilton Garden Inn - the location is close enough to Disneyland to be walkable if you're brave. We drove as we were heading to Santa Monica after our visit to Disneyland anyway. The hotel was also really great value. I've stayed in more expensive hotels that offered less than the Hilton Garden Inn and would certainly recommend giving this hotel a chance if you're going to Disneyland. I'm visiting again next month with some friends, and we've booked back in with the Hilton Garden Inn.

    • Liked — The location of the hotel is ideal for Disneyland, thankfully the room rates don't reflect this!
    • Disliked — Without a car it's difficult to get around by the hotel as the roads are pretty busy.

“Good value for Disneyland travelers”

Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim/Garden Grove

We stayed at this hotel in February and March of 2008. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and a good value for a family of 4. I would strongly recommend spending the few extra dollars to for the made to order breakfast. I think they call it the bed & breakfast rate. It saved us time & money so we could get a good start in the morning. The choices for breakfast were omelettes, french toast, or pancakes in addition to a buffet with fruit, cereal, breads, and juice.

The staff was very pleasant and accomodating. When we found our room's closet door was broken, they moved us to another room with no hassle. The room was very clean and a decent size for the cost. I would recommend staying on the second, third or fourth floors since the rooms are a little large than the first floor.

The one bad thing we experienced was parking at night was very tough. The spaces are small and there are several hotels sharing the same parking area. We drove to Disneyland each day and when we returned we had to circle several times before finding a space we could fit into. There are shuttles that run every 20-30 minutes for a small fee so that is an option.

“A very pleasant stay, with great staff”

Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim/Garden Grove

I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for most of the month of February. Booking in Anaheim when traveling on business can be nerve-wracking - i had visions of sugar-fueled Disney-bound rugrats running the halls and was just hoping to find someplace quiet and comfortable. The Hilton Garden Inn filled that role very well. The initial leg of my stay was in a king room, which was nicely appointed and appeared to have updated bedding (a white duvet as opposed to the floral bedspread number I later encountered in a queen room.) Despite being rather busy - full parking lot, breakfast room, etc - it was always quiet, which was perfect. During my stay, myself and my fellow work colleagues made many inquiries of the front desk staff - restaurant recommendations, travel advice, etc, and they were extremely capable in handling all of these. The option of a hot, cooked to order breakfast was great - officially it's $10 or so, but it got included into our room rate, so that may be worth asking about - and the pool, hot tub and fitness facilities were also nice to have. All in all, a good value, great location, and a well managed, well run establishment.
