Arrived a bit early - front desk was able to get us a room even thought we were early - nice!

Cons -
Hotel hallways feel a bit run down - some cracked tiles, probably could use a bit of paint and my doorframe was not closed in on our room - you could see light through it - no big deals - just noting it for the review. Floors/walls seemed a bit thin - sometimes a bit noisy. Breakfast area small and crowded. Parking a bit tight - not horrible, just be aware.

Pros -
Bed was comfy - room was clean - fridge in room - tv channels to choose from - internet access fast - helpful front desk - Ac cold - location to hwy 8.

I would not hesitate to stay here again by any means - there were a few things noted above - but certainly not deal breakers for myself and my wife. Rate was good and pros outweighed all cons. Not trying to sound picky - just noting both the good and the bad. We were quite surprised for a Travelodge - nice place -overall - don't expect flashy - but good solid hotel for the money no doubt.

I must say I have learned to trust tripadvisor and it has yet to let me down.

I was going down to San Diego with myself and two other friends (all girls) for the 2008 Comic Con. Most hotels for a decent price were all booked in San Diego and I chose La Mesa since it is right next door to San Diego.

The Travelodge is very convenient it is just a couple blocks away from the trolley station so you can hope on and go about anywhere in San Diego. From the moment we got there the front desk was nice and helpful. The place is really clean, it has just been remodeled and it showed. The room was spotless and very stylish for a "motel". We even had a few samples in the bathroom (the venus embrace razor and a small secret deodorant) as well as a welcome note from the manager. The room was massive for being two queens. And the breakfast in the morning was great, I was impressed with the selection of everything.

This place was amazing I would definitely stay again! I love the Travelodge.

I rate this motel a 4 based on the management and the size of the room. I threw the management a huge curve by requesting a roll away bed two days before our arrival. The nice lady at the front desk made arrangements for us to have a larger room that could accomodate a roll away. What we found on our arrival was a room large enough to easily accomodate two roll aways! The room was especially advantageous because we stayed there a week, which gave the five of us ample room. The breakfast area can be crowded, the pool is small, and parking is tight; other than that a good, inexpensive place to stay near San Diego. I would stay there again!

We have just returned from a week at the Travel Lodge. The hotel is great and the staff is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible staff before. The only down fall is the parking, small slots and not enough. If you come back late (after 11:00 pm) you might have to park on the side of the street, but I will say the staff moved our vehicle for us due to the street sweeper cleaning between 4:30 am and 6:30 am. When we got up our vehicle was parked right near the front door. The breakfest was good for the type, The elevator is slow so you might want to take the stairs if you don't have much to carry but over all I would stay their again and recommend it to friends and family. Great rooms, close to the highway and stores and great front desk staff during all shifts.
