This hotel offers everything you would want in a motel room (this is a MOTEL, NOT A HOTEL OR A RESORT!); clean room, comfortable beds, shower works, fairly quiet. The full breakfast which is included in the rate is a big plus. It is served from 5:30 AM and includes whatever you might want, hot or cold...eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, french toast, pork chop, bacon, juices, coffee, teas, etc. I think you should try to stay here unless you absolutely don't eat breakfast. This motel fills up with Canadian snowbirds in the winter months, but if you can get a room, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Its hard to say anything bad about this place...my boyfriend and I went up for a weekend and this was the only place with a vacancy. Despite it being about 20 mins from Buellton/Solvang, it turned out to be such a treat. The management has made this Best Western extremely personable and unique: the beds are tall and huge, there was a FULL fridge in the room, and a giant TV. Great service, a cute pool & spa area, and they even offer dvds for rental for each room (which includes a dvd player). Such a surprise, and if there's any drawback, its that it is a little drive from the heart of wine country.

The friendly front desk clerk went out of her way to assure us that our very late arrival would not be a problem. We had been delayed by an unfortunate crash on highway 5, resulting in major detours and delays for thousands of travelers. It was a relief to know that at least our hotel room would be waiting for us whenever we happened to arrive. We were greeted warmly and felt instantly at ease.
Our room was very clean, and the bed was almost as comfortable as my Tempurpedic at home. A full size refrigerator and small microwave almost convinced me to go grocery shopping and cook. (But I got over it.) The lighted magnifying mirror by the sink was a nice touch, too. I never sat in the full size reclining chair as my husband claimed that first, but it looked very comfortable.
The landscaping was nicely done, and created a pleasantly tranquil environment.
Sound traveling through the walls and echoing down the hallways is a small annoyance. I also would prefer to call the hotel directly rather than make arrangements through an overseas "reservation factory."
All things considered, we will stay here again.

I have never wasted my time rating anything on the net – but this Best Western deserves some recognition! If you need to work at VAFB or just coming for a day trip from LA to visit the wine country – this Motel is the best around (and it’s still close enough to Solvang and much cheaper). The BW is much better than the Lompoc Embassy Suites. The BW pool is clean and the Jacuzzi is hot. The rooms have a DVD player and they offer free new released DVD movies. When I arrived, my full-size refrigerator was stocked with Gatorade (they remembered my request from a previous stay – unheard of customer care). The suites have a very nice 50 inch plasma TV with all the cable channels. Some rooms have memory foam beds and an awesome recliner which makes you feel like you are home. They offer a simple breakfast which doesn’t compare to Sonny’s ES cook to order but its good enough. The BW coffee is better. The staff at the front desk are very nice and will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. They even showed a pay-per-view boxing match for free in their lounge. They also host an occasional cookout by the pool. Only thing missing are the chocolates on your pillow with your covers turned down and a creative folded towel creature.
