Great comfortable clean room, lovely presentation of toiletteries. Bit dark because on the first floor, fantastic lactation, friendly staff, great breakfast served in nice lounge area

Great hotel with friendly staff. Rooms small, but well-appointed with a boutique feel. Good continental breakfast and complementary evening happy hour was enjoyable.

We stayed in the Elan for 4 nights in September.It is a good and very friendly hotel with the most comfortable beds/linen we have ever encountered in such a reasonably priced hotel.The staff were universally friendly and helpful.The only major failing was the breakfast which was a bit hit or miss and eaten rather uncomfortably in the lobby with LA traffic streaming by just a window width away.
If you need to be in this part of LA then we would reccomend the Elan without hesitation,and the walking distance to great shopping and eating has its advantages.However this part of LA is not the most attractive and with hindsight we would as tourists,stay in Santa Monica and do our tours/shopping from there.

We stayed here for 1 night in september. The room was a king & it was spacious enough. The staff however makes this hotel so good. They are incredably friendly! I forgot something in my room & they shipped it to another hotel for me (ok it dit not arrive but it wasn't really their fault). Efficient valet service (bit pricey though). Nice croissants at breakfast (being european we appreciated this after a week of muffins & bagels)
In a whole: really nice hotel. Room was nice, staff so friendly & nice breakfast. Maybe just one minor glitch: the aircovents in our room did not close completely & we couldn't find where we could switch it off (don't think you could). So it was a cold & drafty night.
