LA was my home but this time we were only here for one night, just needed a place to sleep for a few hours before attending a funeral the next day, after getting off a 14 hour flight, was nice to get upgraded to the club floor (after I made a small fuss about not sharing a king size bed with my brother, especially since I requested two beds 2 weeks before hand & re requested/confirmed during the online check in process 2 days before arriving in LA)

the hotel is older but comfortable, located on a quiet street in LA downtown, we left in a rush in the morning so didn't have a chance to eat there but I'd would go back the next time when I don't have a place to crash in in LA

(although if this was a for pleasure trip I'd probably try some of the other boutique hotels in LA)

I was at the Omni on business for 5 days. The hotel itself was beautiful, with a nice restaurant, however management and the guest rooms left much to be desired.

The first night I found a wierd eye drop applicator type device in my bed- which left me to seriously question whether or not the bedding was actually changed from the last guest. I requested a new room, but was given a hard time by the manager on duty who simply wanted to change the linens. I was given another room that had still not been cleaned from the last guest!!!

My third room had a bed that looked like someone had received a hair cu on- literally had hair all over the comforter- how does housekeeping not see this???

Fourth room was fine but nothing special. The area around the hotel had nothing to do after 5 or 6 pm when the area businesses closed. I didn't feel safe in the area after dark and opted for room service most nights, which was very good.

I probably wouldn't return to this hotel based on cleanliness issues with the room, and issues dealing with the management that was unaccommodating.

Very impressed! We stayed just one night at the Onmi, LA in May 2008 and it was excellent. Very few hotels give you more than you expect, but the Onmi did in every way. On check in the 4 of us (2adults/2kids) were warmly welcomed and kids given a sizable welcome pack of activities and even some lollies. From here on we were more impressed (and that’s not easy). The room was very large, we visited the Walt Disney theatre and MOCA just behind the hotel and when we returned we ordered room service. Every thing was excellent; the pizza was massive and tasty. The following morning we had the buffet breakfast which was one of the best in our three week holiday around California.

I honestly can’t say enough about how good the Omni was. I should also say that it was our wedding anniversary the night we stayed at the Omni, and they went the ‘extra mile’ by supplying complimentary Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.

I would always return to the Onmi and thoroughly recommend it to any else visiting downtown LA.

The Omni hotel is definitely a standout hotel among the ones I've been too in LA. It's located right in downtown LA and the views from the room let you see all of it. Rooms are quite large and I feel like they are decorated like your own bedroom--not a standard, basic hotel room.
There are two good restaurants, one is a little more luxurious, but both have really good food. There a huge pool outside with nice lounge chairs. Also, the fitness center is very nice and has a lot of machines. I'd say it's a great place for everyone, business travelers in particular.
