This Holiday Inn was good for the two days I was there on a two day business trip. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Areas of construction were not an issue. The catering at our seminar was provided by the Holiday Inn and was good. The beds were very nice and I had a great night sleep. It was close proximity to local area attractions. Overall I was pleased with my stay here.

I've stayed at this hotel twice and had a nice stay on both occasions.

To start with the down sides, its right next to the busy 101 freeway although the traffic noise doesn't bother me. The parking is not cheap at $13 currently, but is secure nonetheless. I also found that the on site restaurant was quite expensive considering that the hotel offers no complimentary breakfast. If you don't like what is on offer it is a fair walk to get something elsewhere. There is a shopping area including a Ralph's store about 15 mins walk form the hotel.

The hotel is very easy to get to from the freeway, it is virtually just off the Vineland Ave ramp.
Contrary to some other reviews I found the area surrounding the hotel to be quite a nice neighbourhood and would have no problem walking around day or night.

The hotel is large and in separate sections. The decor is quite old fashioned but I quite like that. The lobby is quite small and in an L shape. There are pictures on the wall from the old days. The staff are well dressed and courteous. The outside spaces & gardens are well kept. The are tennis courts but I did not use these. There are big pine trees which rise close to the buildings, you can touch them from the balcony. Maybe they are meant to block out traffic noise, not sure if they do but they look nice anyhow.

The rooms are pretty average. on both occasions I have found the rooms & bathrooms to be clean & tidy. I don't remember there being a coffee maker in the room, but everything else you would expect. I didn't have any problems with rowdy guests. When I have stayed here most guests have been middle aged upward so I guess people in this age group tend to behave themselves.

There is also a complimentary shuttle to Universal Studios which I used on both trips too.
I would consider staying here again.

We are two young italian sisters and we went to United States alone for the first time on Feb 2007 to see the Oscar event in real life. We decided to stay at Beverly Garland Holiday Inn and we had a very nice time there! It is not so close to Hollywood and you can't reach by walk the most important attraction of the town but with a short walk you can reach the subway that easily take you wherever you want in LA and surrounding area . The walk from-to the subway takes about 15 minutes. The staff is friendly and help you to do whatever in you, for example we had a problem to phone in Italy when we arrived and they helped us to show how to do it...they booked all the excurions for us and suggested which places to see. The rooms are big, with big beds for europen people, they were clean and nice. To enter in the rooms block you don't need to pass in front of the reception if you don't want, they have a separate access and you can enter only with your key-card. They have a swimming pool. They also have a restaurant very close to it, you can reach it in a very short walk. they offer breakfast and dinner ( the only thing is that the menu was always the same, but that's it ). Beside this restaurant there are not very close places to eat or to shop. Anyway, they also have free shuttle to and from the Universal Studios. Anyway, we suggest this hotel to people with a car because is very close to the freeway but we had no problems even if we did not have a car, so if you don't mind walking from and to the subway, it is a nice hotel. And then, you are in LA, close to the hotel there are typical houses, there is Starbucks ( not too close) and Los Angeles is simply amazing!!!

Was a bit skeptical about staying at a Holiday Inn but I have to say we were very surprised. Hotel was very clean, rooms seem new and updated and very spacious. Hotel Staff was very helpful.
Has a good restaraunt on site and is convenient to Universal and Hollywood attractions. Beds are very comfortable. Pool is small but nice and very well kept.

Would definitely go back again. Great for families, a great bargain considering the price.
