Went to the restaurant in January. The food is good enough with tons of lobster options (tacos, burritos, and platters) and many shrimp combos too. They also have a serve-yourself salsa bar that includes mango salsa, black bean salsa, roasted red pepper salsa, traditional and tomatillo. The shrimp cocktail was tasty and the shrimp were very big. The Cadillac margarita needed more tequila, but the happy hour rum and coke was strong enough.
Happy hour makes this place worth it with 1/2 price drinks and appetizers. The do-not-miss plate is the Tequila shrimp appetizer that comes with garlic bread. The shrimp are sauteed in butter, lots of garlic, a little red pepper, and is actually a borrowed recipe from a famous high-end restaurant in San Diego.
The atmosphere is great, with fun decor, and witty sayings printed on the walls. Very Bahama feeling with grass covered umbrellas and bamboo accents. The outside dining area is the place to be and is warmed very well and looks out into the harbor.
Unfortunately this place was dead at 8:00 on a Friday night. The food is somewhat pricey and a little salty (or too seasoned) but the 1/2 price happy hour (Tequila Shrimp normally $10) made it worth it (it ends at 6:00). My favorite dish of course (as was everyone else) was the Tequila Shrimp!
