“Not Quality but OK”

Quality Inn

3 of 5 stars
South Orange, NJ
Mar 4, 2008

We're buying land in Desert Hot Springs so we wanted an inexpensive place to stay for a few days, something around $100 a night or less. The Quality Inn looked like it would meet the bill.

I didn't expect it to be a luxury place...on that grounds, I wasn't disappointed. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed just handling three travelers checking in, the windows were flimsy, the bathrooms a bit run down, and the furniture cheap. Also, it's hard to park near the stairs to the second floor so lugging up your luggage isn't the most convenient thing. But the TV worked, the free wireless internet was great to have, the pool area was nice enough, and it's in a convenient part of Palm Springs with lovely views of the mountains (like most places in February, it's hard to go wrong just being in the desert listening to the morning birds.)

They give you a 10% discount on the Carrows next door, but skip Carrows - which if you ask me is about three notches below Applebees - and drive down Palm Canyon to the Rock Garden Cafe - much much better place for breakfast with an outdoor garden cafe and prices not much different.

On the whole I wish we could have found a nicer place for the money, but so far, I haven't found one in Palm Springs in the high season. I'll probably try some other bargain place when I'm in town again. The best I could say about this place was that we didn't get robbed (though I didn't trust leaving any cameras etc. in the room) and the free internet was the best thing going.

“Will not return”

Quality Inn

Florence Kentucky

I stayed here for 2 nights and felt the value for money was not really there. I really wondered where I was staying. I know Palm Springs reasonably well but I felt like I was staying in an armed camp. Example 1 - When i was checking in, the guy asked me for the type of car i was driving and jokingly said he needed to know so when the alarm went off, they knew who to contact.
Example 2 - It was impossible to feed dollar bills into their vending machines because they had an exterior housing mounted over the mechanism. I guess this helps the theft problem in more ways than one. Also, the ice machines did not work and the hotel needs to replace carpeting where it's ripped and torn.

“Quality Inn: Depends On What You Pay”

Quality Inn

2 of 5 stars
Vancouver
Jan 27, 2008

Stayed at this hotel which has 3 wood stucco buildings; each 3 stories high. Room doors have 3 locks. Entrances to rooms from outside. Windows in rooms are single pane; you can hear plumbing noises, conversation between rooms, outside the room in the corridors. Price varies from 59.95 - 149.00 for same room. Rooms need new carpets and new drapes and liners, they are stained with coffee and ketchup. Showers need caulking and walls need cleaning. If you pay 60.00 for the room, what can you say? For 150.00, I'd demand a refund and look somewhere else...

“A deserved break”

Quality Inn

4 of 5 stars
Puyallup Washington
Jan 22, 2008

I wanted a get away before school started again from Christmas break and have a couple of friends in Palm Springs CA, so I thought why not.
I got on the computer and ended up booking with Hotels.com and got a great package for RT Air, lodging and car for the weekend.

The hotel was the Quality Inn Palm Springs and what caught my eye was their add went out of the way to let Gay travelers know they were welcomed.
The hotel was well located, clean and quiet. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful.
