As an owner of an Interval timeshare, I traded my one bedroom unit for this. When I checked in, we were assigned a Junior Suite. The room was small, had a queen bed, a small kitchenette and a stained green couch in the same small room. The bathroom was almost bigger! The outside patio was bigger than the entire suite and bathroom combined!
When the couch was opened to sleep, there was little to no room to walk around the unit. The first thing that came to mind, was how anyone would escape this unit in the middle of the night with no room to walk, suitcases spread out, etc. It was definitely beneath any fire code safety standards, as you could not walk between the kitchen and couch unless you slide through sideways. Unacceptable and totally unsafe. Little did we know then that there would be a fire alarm that went off later in the week.
As timeshare trades go, I was suppose to get a unit the same size or greater. When I spoke to the desk, they said there was nothing that could be done. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said she could upgrade me, but would have to charge me and blamed the unit I received on the Interval time-share people.
On one day, the maid came in and cleaned the unit. They left, leaving the deck slider door wide open for anyone or thing to enter our unit!
I was very, very disappointed at the attitude of the management and their refusal to help me correct the situation.
Lastly, the concierge helped me arrange a day of golf, but failed to tell us that we could not pay by credit card and had to pre-pay with them at the hotel, in cash only.
The pool area was way over-crowded with children screaming and running and not a chair to be found if you did not go out at 9 a.m. and stay there all day. However, I believe it was school vacation week.
If you are trading a unit, from your timeshare to this, double and triple check what you are getting. This Junior suite was like a postage stamp in comparison to the one-bedrooms I did see when the maids were cleaning them. In addition, no air conditioning in the bathroom, poor lighting in the entire unit and out-dated stained decorations and furnishings.
The air conditioning unit had a "funky" smell and on the next to the last day, the fire alarm went off at 8 a.m. They told us nothing to worry about, but the Engineering staff of the hotel were overheard discussing the puzzling smell in one building.
