Do not use this hotel. Price was o.k. on Expedia, but after arriving and looking around we could have found better accommodations with similar rate. Beds are full size, and very uncomfortable. Lobby has a beautiful view; however, there was no furniture to sit there and enjoy the view. Continental breakfast is a joke- Rooms were dirty, and couldn't access internet. Staff was friendly, but said Hotel was possibly ready to be sold & this could be the reason for problems.
Remember at checkout to cancel room safe fee.
Best place for freshest seafood & casual outdoor atmosphere is BOONDOCKS take South Atlantic Ave. out of this Hotel toward Mallard St.` Reasonably priced- a local spot!! Got this info from bike/cart rental guy. Best for souveniers is Sharky's North on Atlantic on the right. Cow Licks for ice cream in the evening. Not much for teens to do. Went during Spring break, & this was no problem-felt safe.

Be forewarned. Great view, Good price, Soggy carpet from air conditioner, Room keys didn't work well. Some of the custodial care did not speak much English. Breakfast was ok. Rooms clean. The fire extinguishers expire this month. Bath room fan was noisy and was not vented to the oustside. Older establishment. Owners could put some money into it and spruce it up.

My husband & I just returned yesterday from 9 days at this hotel & were very dissappointed.We had stayed here about 4 to 5 times and this hotel has continually gotten more lax in service and overall cleanliness ie in 9 days our maid skipped 2 days cleaning our room, forgot either facecloths or kleenex or dishtowels(we always rent an oceanfront efficiency). Ther was no soap in the bathroom near the pool the entire time of our stay.The hallway floors(has outside entrance) are always dirty & unswept. The staff is indifferent and when I checked out I was not asked about my stay and there are no survey cards in rooms or anywhere else in the building. This hotel has a 3Star rating from AAA which it does not deserve. We have already picked another place to stay nearby that is a Condotel for $35. less per nite-completely remodeled on oceanfront. If you have already booked the Palm please stay on the staff for Maid Service but keep an eye out for another place or rebook. PS-I've never felt the need to leave a comment before & I've stayed in quite a few Hotels-chains and smaller .

We stayed 3 nights - Wed-Fri prior to Memorial Day weekend. Booked because of the rates and fairly good reviews. Upon walking into the lobby it is beautiful, but oh how deceiving. The cement hallways outside the rooms looks terrible and the pools are in dire need of paint. We didn't even use them. I would not put my child in the kiddy pool it is dirty looking from lack of paint and full of bugs.

The rooms are like cracker boxes. Just room for two double beds and table with four chairs. (It was a nice table, though). The balcony is very small and had not been cleaned. Coated with sand and the chairs were awfully dirty.

The first day the room was not cleaned and towel replinished. We had to pick up towels from the front desk. The male night receptionist said they were short staffed and had problems with the maids. He was very nice and helpful with restaurant suggestions.

We could not believe they charged a $5 a day parking fee. It was a first for us at a Daytona Beach Hotel. I asked the receptionist about it and she said she guessed it was just a way of bringing in more money. She seemed to think it was not fair, either.

Another shocker was they charge for local calls which is unusual.

The breakfast area where the food is was so congested and the foods offered were scarse. The attendant had an attitde.

We have stayed at Daytona Beach for years and never had a place quite like this one. It needs a lot of improvement. Our main complaint was the size of the room.

We would not choose this hotel again.
