“More than we expected”

The Regency was more than we expected. All the staff was very nice and helpful. The place was very clean. We had some bird droppings on your two balconies but they were cleaned without hesitation and we could call them again if needed. We had a one bedroom with a north and south view on the city side. We loved it because the bedroom was on one side and the living is on the other. Kids slept and were not disturbed with the TV or talking. There was a DVD/VCR player for the 32" plasma in the living room as well as a cd and tape stereo.

The kitchen cutlery and dishes were newer and very clean. We needed a cookie tray and they had it at our door in the time it took us to take the elevator to the seventh floor from the front desk. Very good service!

Request a north view so that you don't face the Wyndham Ocean Walk (see pictures). The king size bed was very comfortable and the washroom was huge and very clean. The location is great. The indoor pool is small but the outdoor was heated so we spent most of our time outside. There is not too much to do in Daytona Beach so we spent time at the Manatee festival, Rolex 24 hours at Daytona, Ponce Inlet and walking the boardwalk. The beach was great and the sand was amazing. We have very little seaweed and no rocks. Cocoa beach was awful.

Just returned from holiday travels that included a stay at Daytona Beach Regency. I wish that there was a rating between "Terrible" and "OK with some problems"- that would be the best fit. We are Sunterra owners, but have never been to this location. Our evening arrival was a bit unnerving as the area around the hotel and parking lot were poorly lit. I'm from Brooklyn and I felt unsafe ! The rooms were HUGE and our 11 year old enjoyed having the mini fridge in her lock off room along with a garden tub. The furniture and finishings seemed worn out and overused. This appears to be a property that is prime for an overhaul. Staff was ok, didn't seem to be attentive to guests unless you walked right up to them. No greetings, or eye contact unless you were making a specific request. We did need the lock off unlocked and staff came quickly and were helpful with that. I donot see us returning.

“Very enjoyable accommodations”

Sunterra Daytona Beach Regency

Dec 24, 2007

This is actually called Sunterra Daytona Regency now, We exchanged through Interval International. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. One room had a king and the other a double bed.Everything is our unit looked newer and in good shape. The staff was very helpful, friendly and wanted to please. We were there in December. The outside pool was not heated but the repair was scheduled for Jan 2008, they also plan to replace outside furniture and paint the deck this winter. The parking is gated under the first floor.

“On the Beach for Thanksgiving! Gorgeous Room! What's not to like?”

Loved it!! Loved it! Loved it! I was small and cozy compared to the bustling resort next door, but we had the place pretty much at peace and not to crowded. The room was huge for a 1 bedroom and we all fit (5 of us) and we had 2 balcony's with a partial ocean view and a view of the street. During Thanksgiving week old time cars drive up and down the mainstreet and we could see it from our balcony. As well as the beach was right there...what else could you want? I guess maid service. You don't get maid service here...this is a timeshare resort. However, you also in walking distance to the mall. You have 1 outdoor pool and 1 indoor pool. We roasted marshmellows at the fire pit. The outdoor pool was not heated (that was a dissappointment), so we mainly used the indoor pool. This time of year is called "Red Tide" so some people may experience couphing, runny nose and tearing eyes..but none of us experienced it and my son has asthma...

“Ripped me off”

When I checked into my room, there was a burn mark in the carpet. This did not bother me very much, as I was planning on spending most of the time on the beach with my family.

However, when I got home from my trip, I noticed an extra $575 charge on my credit card from the hotel. I called and talked to John Betros, the general manager, and he accused me of personally causing the burn mark in the carpet. He was extremely rude to me, and treated me like a criminal. He refused to even acknowledge the possibility that the burn was caused by a previous tenant, or a member of the hotel staff. He has refused to give me a refund. I would never stay at this hotel again.
