This was the second time that I've stayed in a Homewood Suites, and I continue to be very impressed with the chain. I shared the room for one night with a baseball buddy, and slept on the sleeper sofa in the "living room", which was perfectly comfortable. We could even close the door between the rooms so that my snoring wouldn't bother him. Free wireless service is also provided in the rooms.
They provide a free breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and many other items. The most impressive feature, however, was the free "manager's reception" with not just snacks, but real food. We had nicely seasoned pork chops, mashed potatoes and salad. Even more special, they had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Anchor Steam beer on tap!! I don't know if the great beers were there because they recently opened, but this was a real "WOW"! The evening reception is not held on Friday and Saturday nights, so we were lucky to be staying there on a Wednesday night.
For you baseball fans, this hotel is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Roger Dean Stadium, Spring Training home of the Florida Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals. Two minor league teams also play there throughout the summer. This was a nice break from the typical parking expense and exiting mayhem at the Florida Spring Training venues.
