“Great Service and Classic Charm”

The Morris Inn

5 of 5 stars
Albuquerque, NM

Just returned from a conference at Notre Dame and stayed at the Morris Inn for 3 nights. From the time you get out of your vehicle the service is excellent. The staff were very helpful with maps and directions. They even gave me take out menus for food late in the evening and recommendations on where to order from. The Inn itself shows some age but the rooms are clean and have modern furniture. I am very particular about bathroom cleanliness and this one was excellent. My room had two twin beds which seemed a little larger than standard twin beds and were very comfortable. I had a great view of the campus from the large windows in the bedroom area. The room had a seperate vanity area and bathroom. The Inn is located in an excellent central location--took about 15 minutes by taxi to get there from the airport and you have easy access to the whole campus. Breakfast vouchers at Sorin's were included and their food was excellent. Did not eat there for any other meals but heard good reviews from other conference participants. Would highly recommend this Inn to others.

“Very Convient and kind of classy”

The Morris Inn

My son booked this room for my wife and I when we came out for his summer graduation. Its older but classy. Rooms are small with two single beds. There is a seperate setting room for makeup etc. The AC was kind of noisey. I reported that and they did something to make it a little better but was not a plus. They have a adjacent upscale restraunt. We did not eat the breakfast that is included as the graduation event included one. Special Notre Dame carper. Rooms have pictures from campus. Real convient location. A little over priced in my view.

“where is the pool?!”

The Morris Inn

Stayed there for one night. Beds are like dorm beds - twin size and SHORT! Walls - paper-thin. Room was clean.
Bar... small and they don't have much choice there, but not terribly expensive.
Where is the promised pool?! According to the friendly staff I could have went to the one somewhere on university campus, which I was not willing to do.
On the bright side: free parking (don't forget to ask for the tag!) and nice lobby.
Definitely overpriced for $140 I paid.

“Great lodging on the ND campus!”

Have stayed at the Morris Inn at Notre Dame for 30 years. Most recent visit (Oct 2004) confirms that this is a solid 3-star property with great food, friendly bar and solid rooms. Best rooms are the corner suites. Over the years, rooms and restaurant have been upgraded--probably more so the restaurant. The Morris Inn and the continuing education center across the street make a great combination. There's even an underground walkway between the two facilities lined with Notre Dame pictoral memoriablia. Adjacent is the alumni hall with the campus bookstore which is really nice. If you're going to be staying in the South Bend area, see if you can get a room here--a great small hotel!
