This is my 2nd time staying at the Marriott Sable Oaks in the past month. Both stays have been nice. The staff is friendly but as a Marriott Silver Guest I was not treated as I would any differently than any other guest. (great if you are not Silver). The rooms are clean but nothing spectacular. Unfortunately the location is not the best, it would be nice if the Marriott had a downtown property. Luckily it is a quick ride to the airport if you are flying in and out.

Again, nice place obviously since I have stayed there twice, but I think the next time I am going to try something downtown.

The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Location is far enough away from the Mall and Restaurants to be quiet but close enough to be convenient.

Rooms with 2 double beds are small rooms. The room smelled musty (the second room they offered was the same0 and had dirty windows, scuff marks and lifting wall paper, stains on the carpet, mold on the caulking around the tub, and a bathroom fan that’s almost as loud as a Harley Motorcycle. I found it hard to get use to the yellowish lighting in the bathroom.

I've was told a major renovation was coming in the Winter of 2008. I'd wait until then to stay here.

Other guest checking out at the front desk told the clerk their stay was okay so either my standards are too high or their's too low- tt

Great! I love the room decor and the way the room is set up. It's by the mall, but off on it's own long driveway, so it's quiet. Rooms are small, but very comfortable for a few nights stay. Beds are so so so comfortable. Front desk staff is very friendly. They also have transportation to the airport and have no problem with you parking your car there for a few weeks, and don't charge you to do so! Has a great breakfast buffet. Always stay here when we travel to South Portland!

Just returned from spending 2 nights at the Marriott at Sable Oaks with my husband and two children (11,15). We found the staff to be very pleasant and accommodating. We asked for a roll-away bed and they had one delivered within an hour at no extra charge. The wireless connection was complimentary which was a bonus considering we brought a lap top. The pool and pool area were just the right temperature and the hot tub was great. We have stayed in a Sheraton in the area where the pool and pool area where on the cooler side and they didn't allow by 12 year old son to go in the hot tub.

The only disadvantages were due to school vacation week the pool was generally crowded. Also, the floor does get slippery around the pool area since it's tiled. Some rubber mats may be good. One day they did run out of towels but at the end of the day the staff did supply us with some for our showers.

We have stayed in about 3 other hotels in the area and this has been our favorite so far.
