We booked four nights through priceline for this hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel (which was Wednesday July 3, 2008) our first room had the air conditioner wires spliced together and laying on the floor. The toilet did not flush properly and the bathroom exhaust fan was very noisy. On Thursday morning we ask to move to another room for the balance of our vacation. On Friday we had to ask to have our bed made and this was after 3:30 p.m. Also, we had to ask for tissues and coffee. These items were to be replenished daily upon cleaning of the rooms. We used our drinking glasses for soda on Thursday and the drinking glasses were never replaced or cleaned. Upon checking out which was Saturday evening, I ask for a receipt and was denied. I was told that they could not give me a receipt showing that I had no additional expenses. I was told that they only deal with priceline.
When we arrived home, I decided to check our credit card account and seen a descripancy in the balance. This was due to the fact that the hotel charged our credit card $50.00 retaining fee for each night.. For a total of $200.00. I phoned the hotel and was told that it would take a average of 3 to 5 days to recover the retaining fees.
Retaining $200.00 for incidental that were not used is outrageous. Charges should only be made in the amount of incidental that you use. I have never had this type of experience with any other hotel and we travel quite extensively.
