South Portland,Maine: Quality Inn &Suites
My husband, myself , and my mother in law spent the evening of September 8,2007. When I called to reserve the two rooms I spoke with a friendly, informative associate. We found the same service when we checked in. It was extremely warm that day and although the air conditioning was not on when we entered the room, it was turned on as soon as we requested it.
We found the room clean and inviting. We spent a comfortable and very quiet night and left satisfied. It wasn't until we returned home to Massachusetts on September 10th that my mother in law realized she didn't have her camera and necklace that had not only monetary value but much sentimental value as well. I immediately called the Quality Inn and to our surprise and relief, someone had found the items on one of the beds and returned them to the service desk.
It means alot to know you can travel and stay somewhere and not only have a pleasant stay but know that the facility is completely trustworthy. We would recommend the Quality Inn and Suites of South Portland Maine to anyone traveling!

Spent one night at this motel because we couldn't find anything else in Portland, being arrived late at night. Stayed in what supposedly should had been a "Suite". The place was cold, poorly furnished and too dirty for our standards. We've been in other motels before (Motel 6, Travelodge, etc) but this one seemed definetely below average. Lots of spiderweb across the ceiling, crumbs on the carpets and something bit me on my arm during the night on my arm (a spider?) leaving two red marks close to one another.
What made it worse was that we were charged 149 USD for one night, while the next days we found better solutions, way cleaner, for much less and directly on the beach (old orchard).
Don't think I'll come here again.

This Quality Inn does not live up to the quality image it advertises. Our room was only marginally clean. The complimentary breakfast room was very dirty and had a toaster that looked like an accident waiting to happen.
There is siding hanging from the building and this property clearly is not maintained on a regular basis.
It is, however, close to the interstate. I do not think this place is a good value and with other places nearby, you may do better to pass this one by.

I think I had one of the better rooms on the property, and it was decent--a fairly typical Quality Inn. Overall, the property is rather dated and not the most glamorous. The only major complaint I can think of was that the door through which I entered the rear of the main building was broken and no longer required a key card for entry. I will note, though, that the guests who were waiting to check out at the same time I did were rather upset with their stays, for what it's worth. The best thing about this place for my purposes was its very close proximity to the interstate.
