“Worst hotel stay ever”

It took 3 hours to get our room after we made reservations 2 weeks prior. Renovated room looked nice but it was full of dust & the room & hallways reeked of off gassing fumes from paint, glue & who knows. The drawers were dusty & smelled like paint, hence your clothes got dusty & smelled like paint. We had to make our own bed at 1:30am on the second night. The room was never cleaned & the sheets were never changed. The towels were old & ratty like car towels. Complaints fell upon deaf ears as well as no response to emails. We had requested a refrigerator for medications when we reserved our room. It was not in the room & we had to wait for it to be delivered. The one we got looked like it fell of the back of a truck, no front legs, scratched up dirty exterior & a crooked door. Players club/Pasport was a joke, they refused to tell you your points or what comps you were getting. I would never go back, the olny good thing about this hotel stay was dinner at the Steak House.

“Peppermill Very Good”

Very nice rooms, even if they still have the smoked mirrors. No coffee in room as typical for casino hotels. Wireless Internet is pitiful and hard wired Internet is not much better -- very slow. Wound up using the Internet from the Atlantis -- got a stronger wireless connection in my room than from Peppermill. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Strongly recommend.

“This is a resort?”

We spent one night at the Peppermill for our grandson's regional gynastics meet. We originally booked a smoking room. The room was one of the new updated rooms but it reeked so strongly of room freshener that my eyes watered and I couldn't stop sneezing. I went back downstairs and we were moved with no problem to a non-smoking room. That room hadn't been updated. Then I had to go back to registration to request a coffee pot. The room was adequate. It was nothing especially good or bad in any way. Just a room. I would describe the style of the remodeled hotel as terribly tacky Tuscan. They have a lot of nerve collecting a resort fee for a hotel that doesn't even have a pool.

“Casino gaudy, but the hotel was great”

Was at the Peppermill for a family wedding. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and quiet. Checking in/out was quick. Did not eat in all their eateries because we were only there a couple of days, but from what I experienced I have nothing bad to say. I loved their arcade/game room too! There was construction going on during our stay but it did not inconvenience us. The best thing about the Peppermill was the staff--we could not have asked for better service. The casino was not one of the better ones I have been to. The lighting and colors were an assault to my senses. But I was not there to gamble anyway. If you come to Reno, gamble at the others, but sleep at the Peppermill.

“Outpricing Itself?”

Peppermill Resort Casino

3 of 5 stars
California

I've stayed at the Peppermill about 6 times over the past 2 years and I think it's time for a change. The pool has been closed for about a year and half now but the resort fees have increased from about $3 a night to $6 a night now. This last visit, I arrived wanting nothing more than a sandwich at the food court, only to find out that they had torn it out. The only other choice was the buffet at $20 a person - far too expensive for what it offered. Breakfast at the coffee shop ran me about $12 because I insist on coffee and they added $2 on my bill for a service charge. Charges will be applied for using the business center and internet. I enjoyed the ambience of Biscotti's but found the food mediocre. All in all, I think the Peppermill might be pricing itself out of a lot of business. The buffet at the Atlantis was superior for the price but the breakfast down at Circus Circus for under $10, no extra fees and good service was even better! There are better deals to be had in Reno right now.

    • Disliked — Lack of food choices, lengthy renovations and steadily increasing service fees
