My daughter is 21 this year. We have been going to OC almost every year, staying exclusively at Scarborough Inn since she was 7 or 8. So that's what .. 13 or 14 years now. There have been times I've said I'd like to try a hotel with a pool for when we tire of the ocean (which has never happened!), or someplace right on the Boardwalk ... but no matter what I have always gone back to Scarborough. My sister is the one who originally told us about it, and has often accompanied us on one of our vacations. Gus and Carol and the rest of the staff are wonderful, the Inn is always very clean, the grounds always look beautiful. My daughter says she envisions taking her children there someday when she eventually has some (hopefully not too soon since she's still in college lol!), and you know grandma will be coming along!!
This year my daughter joined some friends and is currently in Seaside Heights right now. KNOW WHAT? She wishes they had gone to OC instead! Same with one year that we tried Wildwood just to see what it was like! Ended up back in OC the following year! Even made a day trip to OC while in Wildwood cause we liked it better!
SOOOO ... OC AND SCARBOROUGH INN ARE DEFINATELY THE WAY TO GO!!!!

A family member recommended this Bed & Breakfast to me, and little did I know just how much I would enjoy staying at this particular inn. I chose it because of the location (within a couple of blocks of the beach), but would recommend it because of the attention to detail. My room was clean and the sheets smelled fresh. That's important when you want to get a good night's sleep! I also noticed while eating breakfast that the dining room was spotless, including the baseboards! Overall, the best part of the inn was the wraparound front porch. It was peaceful and cozy and the perfect place to stay for much needed R&R.

My wife and I stayed at the Scarborough Inn for five nights, and enjoyed the stay greatly. We would definitely recommend this inn, and if we visit Ocean City again we're likely to stay at it. Here are our thoughts:

Customer Service
Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early, but were able to check into our room ahead of time. The inn had several employees working at all times, and the results showed - the inn was very clean and well-maintained.

Condition
First and foremost, the entire inn was very clean and well-kept. We reserved the "Aerie" room, which is on the third floor at the front of the inn. The room size wasn't huge, but the view was nice and all decorations and furniture were in good shape. Also, the outdoor patio and rocking chairs are a nice touch. We ate breakfast outside most mornings.

Location
The inn is located two blocks from the boardwalk, and within walking distance of many restaurants. The location is as good as any Ocean City hotel or inn.

The Scarborough Inn is just a wonderful place for everyone to enjoy a relaxing, ideal vacation in lovely Ocean City, NJ. Each room is exquisitely decorated and the entire Inn is just delightful. We stay in a different room each time we visit.. The owners and the staff are very special people who are warm and friendly in every way. Each morning, there is freshly brewed coffee for early risers as well as a healthy, delicious breakfast in the dining room. Each afternoon at 4, there are fresh baked refreshments available in a spotless, inviting Butlers Pantry. A beautiful library and sojourn room with every amenity one could think of are located on the second and third floor. A computer is also available for use. A daily newspaper is delivered to each room as well> The outdoor garden is a joy to walk through and even the parking lot is attractive with its surface of white crushed shells. The ambiance of the Inn is pure elegance, but not stiff and formal. The owners have not overlooked any detail in providing a perfect place to spend a vacation. We can highly recommend the Scarborough Inn.
