“Amazing attention to details”

Inn at Twaalfskill

Twaalfskill is a wonderful inn that you feel absolutely comfortable in the moment you step inside. The owners have done an amazing job with the house. The rooms are immaculate as are the huge, fabulous bathrooms. The whole house is relaxing with numerous areas to sit at inside and out with a book or something to drink. It is surrounded by huge trees. It feels more like you are staying with close friends and don't feel the need to tip toe around or stay holed up in your room. The owners are very gracious and friendly but pretty much leave the house to the guest for their enjoyment. It is in a good location for seeing all of the Hudson Valley-very centrally located. The breakfast was very good -yogurt parfaits-asst muffins and tea loaves-french toast with strawberries and orange. They also have tons of great magazines and travel books to look through!

My husband and I returned to the Inn at Twaalfskill for our second visit, for three wonderful nights this Spring. The B&B overlooks a lovely creek and is surrounded by large beautiful trees. It boasts a most tranquil lovely setting.

We were attending our son's college graduation in the area, and our hostess armed us with umbrellas on our way to the rainy ceremony. Afterward, we were invited to use the new bluestone patio to visit with our family.

No detail is overlooked by our hostess, Nancy Russell-Norberg.
The furnishings take you back in time. Staying here makes you feel extremely nurtured, with a fire in the fireplace, a featherbed that puts you right to sleep, breakfasts that are not only tasty ,but presented with perfection. Snacks of fruit, pastries and beverages are available throughout the day. We look forward to our return.

“Memorable Twaalfskill”

Inn at Twaalfskill

Apr 14, 2007

Our one night stay at the Inn at Twaalfskill was truly delightful. Innkeeper Nancy Russell-Norberg has renovated her family home with great respect for its original Victorian architecture and with a keen eye for her guests comforts. Guest rooms as well as public rooms are tastefully appointed and the private baths for each of the three guest bedrooms are luxurious.

It was not only the lovely surroundings that made our stay memorable, however. Nancy, as host, provides a warm and charming welcome and a hospitatlity that knows no bounds. Nancy is also a skilled cook. Breakfast in the newly bulit and airy breakfast room was a scrumptious treat, an appropriate send off as we readied ourselves for a cooking class at the near-by Culinary Institute of America.

The Inn at Twaalfskill deserves to be ranked among one of the best we have experienced.

“Exquisite”

Inn at Twaalfskill

Boston, MA
Nov 9, 2006

This bed and breakfast is truly exquisite . Our room was tastefully and lovingly furnished. Our delightful hosts Eric and Nancy from their travel in Europe have bought back many antiques for the enjoyment of their guests. Our stay was truly a delight and we would love to come back again.

The area around Highland has much to see including FDR's old home, the Vanderbilt mansion, the International Culinary Institute, Vassar College, as well as walking trails in the lovely surrounding countryside

We were there in October.

“Get the Chance - Stay at the Inn at Twaalfskill”

Inn at Twaalfskill

I am writing this review from Melbourne, Australia.
I was very fortunate to spend a night at the Inn at Twaalfskill in October 2006. I stayed in Room One.
This intimate little getaway is the find of the year. Its setting in beautiful Highland (surronded by "The Fall" will stay in my memory for a long time.
My stay was made so more enjoyable by the attentions of my hosts Nancy and Eric Norberg. The Inn is beautifly fitted out with touches of the hosts collections of their overseas travels and the bed and spa are to die for.
Your privacy is of paramount concern by your hosts, and the comfort of an early arrival is assured with relaxing couches, refreshments offered unstintingly. You must have the Belguim waffles for breakfast.
Frances Evans.
