Had a wonderful 6 nights stay over at Legends. Let me break down the review part by part.
Check-in
Once you reached the hotel, you will be greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and a cold towel to refresh you up. You will be ushered into the reception area where they will do the check it while you are seated down to enjoy your glass of wine. After the quick check-in, the porter will show you the room.
Service in the hotel
Service at the hotel is excellent. All the staff will try their very best to keep all guests feel at home and in great comfort.
Rooms
All rooms come with a balcony which will face the sea. I'm staying in the Superior room which has a lovely view of the sea. Room facilities are pretty basic but the room condition can be improved. Tiles showed black patches and there are ants crawling around. Room service was done twice a day, once in the morning and another time during the evening. So the towels will be changed twice a day and your bed will always be neat and tidy.
Drinks @ the restaurant
We were on full-board package, so the drinks are not included. To top-up to all-inclusive at the hotel is ard Euro 104 per pax per day. We do not take much alcoholic drinks, so we only took a bottle of mineral water (Euro 3.50) for each meals. My advice to all the wine, beer drinker, take the all-inclusive as the drinks are quite expensive.
Ginkgo Restaurant
We have problems booking dinner at the other restaurants. We arrived on Saturday evening and when we tried to book the other restaurants for dinner, they are all packed till Friday, which is the day we leave Mauritius. So we only had our dinner at Ginkgo all the time.
Ginkgo has different theme for each day. Sometimes it is buffet, sometimes it is set dinner. We are quite alright with the food served in this restaurant and the dessert is always a pleasant surprise.
One must really be patient when you are having the set dinner as we took around 2 to 2.5 hours to finish the set dinner.
La Bastide
Had our lunch here all the time as well as it served foods to our likings. Nothing much to complain about the food. Servings are just nice and the restaurant has a great view of the sea.
Spa
Spa price is on the high side and it cost around Euro 150 for a massage. Inside the spa, there's a nice cozy area to enjoy your jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath. There are altogether 3 jacuzzi and out of the 3, two of them are warm jacuzzi.
Swimming pool
There are two pools. The center pool has a good view of the lagoon and the banyan pool is a bit further. We did not use the pool at all as it was winter in Mauritius and the water is really cold. Most of the people only laze around the pool having their tan.
Water Sports
Glass bottom boat - There are two time slots each day and you have to book the slots. Nothing much to view as the sea is not too clear. The corals are dead and there are not too much fishes.
Snorkelling - There are two slots a day and you got to book it. The water is cold and there are not much to see.
Wind-surfing - You can do it everyday but it pretty much depends on the weather. Legends offers free lesson on Tues and Thurs.
Water-skiing - A daily offered activity. Legends has private skiing course at Euro 80 per hour.
Deep see fishing - The boat house charged at a rate of Euro 500 for 5 hours trip.
Tips
Tips should only be given at the end of your stay.
In conclusion, we had a relaxing time at the resort and will look forward to another trip.
