It seems from the comments below that the decor and layout of the rooms is a somewhat contentious issue. Personally, I thought they were perfect (although, unlike some others, we did have a "proper" bathroom, separate from our room, and an enormous one at that). I'm not a big fan of the "twee" decoration in some country hotels, presumably designed to offer the sort of faux-authenticity that American visitors are so enamoured of, and so the modern, trendy decor sat very well with me. What I particularly liked was that none of the decor was particularly hotel-like. From the inside, it felt more like a SoHo loft apartment.
As for the other stuff, I agree with some other comments that the restaurant executes comfort food (ie. cooked breakfasts, burgers, Sunday roasts, etc) more competently than fine dining (ie. dinner), but none of it was bad. The grounds are fantastic, and easily large enough to absorb the few children running around, so we did not feel remotely bothered by the families that were staying there. The pools are excellent, and the spa is broadly first rate. And they mix a mean cocktail in the bar.
And to the person who moaned about the location of the car park - that is why they offer valet parking!
My only gripe would be that the minibar was very poorly stocked and our fridge didn't work (although it's only a short walk to the bar, so that was hardly the end of the world). I was also surprised at the lack of a/c, which I imagine could make the place a little uncomfortable in July and August.
Overall, however, I'd highly recommend it.
