I had read alot of negative reviews of this hotel and we were leary of it . However we named our own price on priceline and for the 2.5 stars it showed, we figured the 30 bucs a night we named was a good deal, as we stayed 3 nights. So we took our chances. We got there and I was impressed by the shining floors of the lobby and the professionally looking staff. We got our room, which i would reccomend checking in early (3 pm is check in time). this way you get a downstairs room as this hotel is 2 floors with no elevators. We got our downstairs room with a beautiful king size bed. The entire room was clean,, there was no construction going on. Plenty of parking, no noises in the middle of the night, etc.
There is a train which you can hear about 9 a.m. if your awake. However, if your sleeping, there would be no way you could hear it and it turns out to be a long way away so its amazing you can barely hear it anyway.
Some of the downsides to this hotel is that there are no restaurants nearby. You will have to drive a few miles to get to them. They do offer room service and have a bar and restaurant onsite, but pricey.
One of the days we stayed the maid did not clear our room at all and since we were out all day and didnt get in until late, we couldnt get new towels, etc. So that was not cool. No tips for them. Beware of the snack machine in the hall way, things get stuck in it, if they do, just shake the byotch alot.
The shuttle driver was very cool and he is happy to take you around the airport should you need service there, or you can walk as you are about 1/4 mile from the terminal, but amazingly you dont hear planes taking off at all.
There are two big indian casinos each about 8 miles from the hotel.... one in each direction. I recommend the million dollar elm casino, because it was not under contruction like the other one is, and you can go to the bar there, get drinks and walk around the casino drinking them. Most casinos wont let you leave the bar area, but this one is cool about it which makes it more fun to play when you get a buzz.
If you happen to want to take a drive to the south side of town, there is another large casino on the arkansas river which has alot more variety than the two nothern casinos, and to our experience, the slots are looser there.
This was my first visit to Tulsa, and probably my last unless i bring the grandkids to the Oklahoma Aquarium which was pretty nice.
I say my last visit simply because there are so many cities and great places to explore in the USA that its fun to go to a new place.
Rule # 1 if your going to Tulsa and want a nice cheap place to stay. Get on price line, type in 30 bucs for your own price and include the tulsa airport. you will get a nice room that is normally 89.00- 129.00 bucs a night depending upon what day it is.
What a deal
