“Great stay with Residence Inn!”

We stayed at the Residence on this past weekend. Great stay! Check in was very quick. The hotel is set up like an apartment complex so it can be confusing when you first go to find your room. We stayed in a 1 bedroom penthouse although it was really a wonderful large apartment. It had 2 bathrooms, a King size bed, a Murphy pull down bed, and a hid- a- bed couch. It had a full Kitchen which came in handy. It was perfect for a guy’s weekend in Portland. The hotel is right by the Lloyd Center Mall and the neighborhood seemed nice. I saw an Applebee’s and a Denny’s nearby, in addition to what the mall has to offer. There is also a Safeway if you want to buy some groceries. Residence Inn is right next to a movie theatre and about a 5 block walk to the Max light rail station. You are in the fare less section so it is free to ride into downtown and only takes about 10 minutes…very easy to use. No complaints and it was a wonderful stay!

“Almost like home”

My wife and I stayed at the Residence Inn at Lloyd Center for almost three months from late December, 2007, to early March, 2008. We cannot adequately express in words how uniformly hospitable the staff was, from general manager to housekeeper. The suites were quite comfortable and clean. Parking was complimentary and adequate. The location is ideal, semi-residential, but one block away from a major mall and one block away from public transportation. Additionally, free transportation is available to downtown Portland on the Max, a light rail, the stop for the train being only a short walk from the Inn. Breakfast, complimentary 7 days a week, was more than adequate, and the complimentary "social hour" Tuesdays through Thursdays were generous enough to eliminate the need to prepare a dinner or go out for dinner those nights. Pricing of the suites was more reasonable than the competing high rise Residence Inn at River Place, on the edge of dowtown Portland.

The only disappointments were that the rooms were dark because of small and limited number of windows. This was further aggravated by the dim suite lights, which, surprisingly for a Marriott facility, were incandescent bulbs rather than energy-conserving fluorescents.

We will most definitely return to the Residence Inn at Lloyd Center for our next visit to Portland.

“Loved It!”

This hotel was excellent. I read the reviews on this site before I traveled and decided to try this hotel. I loved it! We rented the two bedroom penthouse through the Marriott site for $170. The hotel was clean and the staff was great.
The day we arrived they had a free BBQ (chili dogs, salads, soda---i liked it). It is close to free public transportation which made it very easy to get around downtown. The free breakfasts were surprisingly good. Someone reviewed it and said it was like McDonalds. Not quite. There are waffles, eggs, fruit, cereal, etc. Again, I liked it.
It is close to the highway, but the noise didn't bother us at all.

I would stay there again.

“Best for the money”

Great motel within walking distance of the mall. The room was huge, with a FULL kitchen, living area with a WOOD burning fireplace and sofa ( I think it pulled out to a bed). This room had a queen bed. When we checked in we were given a choice of the queen with the fireplace or a king. We checked in after midnight ( I called earlier to let them know we'd be late arriving) and had prompt and courteous service. In the morning there is a FULL free breakfast including something for everyone... even a waffle maker that you can do yourself ( great for the kids, or umm, me). Free newspapers in the dining area and a bigscreen TV. The staff are very friendly and seem to genuinely care about whats going on there.
For under $100, this is by far the best place my wife and I have stayed.
Like I said, the mall is 2 blocks away, the movie theater even closer.
The Max is a free local train that has a stop within a 5-10 minute walk. It will take you downtown. We got sidetracked at the Saturday Market, with all sorts of local artists, food and other things going on. We also too the Max too the hockey game, dropping us off a few minutes walk away.
All in all a great stay.... we'll be back for sure!

“Enjoyed my stay .....”

Residence Inn Portland Downtown/Lloyd Center

I stayed for two nights in November while in town to attend the annual college fair at the Convention Center. Loved being able to leave my car in the parking lot and ride the Max to and from my event! Found the hotel conveniently located yet quiet, the breakfasts good, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. My only (minor) complaint was that I was on the bottom floor and heard all the footsteps/creaks from the room above. I needed to be on the ground floor, though, since my suitcase was heavy and I didn't want to lug it up stairs.
